McNell and Mrs. Carrie McNell were in town on Friday from their walnut ranch on the Garden Grove road, which Mr. McNell recently purchased for $16,000. Mr. McNell and family came from Phoenix, Arizona, where he was in business or thirty years. He conducted the largest printing establishment in the new state, but for some years past has pined for a home on the coast, where summers are never hot and winters never cold. He selected this section after looking over Southern California, and has set about improving his purchase. He has installed a new curbing to the pit at his pumping plant and is busily engaged transforming his ranch into one of the show places of the county.
