INSTALLATION CEREMONIES THURSDAY—The Anaheim Assistance League will begin a new year of philanthropic effort under the leadership of Mrs. Duncan Powers as president. Assistance League to Install Board in Ceremonies Thursday Members of the Assistance League of Anaheim plan an in-iring ceremony for Thursday, May 9 when they terminate one star of philanthropic activities and launch the new season by the installation of officers. With Mrs. Melvin Duffy, past president of the League and Regional Representative, acting as installing officer, the following all accept responsibilities for leadership during 1962-1964: Hmes. Duncan Powers, president; Lowen Casey, first vice president; George Fowler, second vice president; Charles Conrad, third vice president; Marshall Honestreet, fourth vice president and Wallace Stout, fifth vice present. Other officers to serve with the board are Mdmes. Paul Cook, reading secretary; Harry Burd, corresponding secretary; Anneth Heuler, treasurer; B. R. Coupland, parliamentarian; Thomas Short, public relations; Melvin Duffy, representative to regional; and J. Ben Kaulbars, alternate representative to regional. The installation ceremonies were conducted at the League Service Center on La Palma. Mrs. Frederick Rusch, retiring president, opened the meeting, welcoming members from the wide organization which comprises Active, Associate, Sustaining, Life, Auxilia Doras and Junior Auxiliary membership. Pancake Breakfast To Help Leaguers A pancake breakfast is scheduled by the La Palma Little League on May 11 to raise funds for support of the junior players. The breakfast is to be held in front of Crawford's Market at 639 North Euclid in Anaheim between the hours of 7:00 and 11:00 a.m. Donations of 50 cents will be asked. Install New PTA Officers New officers of the Anaheim Elementary Council of PTA the 1963-1964 year have officiated taken office following impregnation ceremonies this week at the La Palma Youth center. This meeting will feature "Ladies Night". Just what the ladies have planned is a surprise, but it will be interesting and informative, club officers declare. There will be a plant table and refreshments. The public is invited. Fullerton Art Is on Exhibit Fullerton Union High School Art Department is holding its Spring Art Exhibit the week of May 13. It will be held in the High School Art Gallery in the Home Economics and Art Building on Lemon Street. The exhibit is composed of outstanding work from a large group of beginning art students and students from classes in Design, Commercial Art, Three Dimensional Design, Drawing and Painting, and Pen and Ink. The Art Club, Honor Society of the Art Department, is responsible for the organization of the show this year. This includes planning the display of the work, advertising and guides for the exhibit. The students and instructors have invited the public to attend the exhibit beginning May 13 thru May 17 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Stamp Group Meets Friday The regular monthly meeting of the Orange County Philatelic Society will be held in the California Federal-Anaheim Community room (north room), California Federal Savings and Loan Association Building, 600 N. Euclid Ave., Anaheim, at 8 p.m. Friday, May 10. Guest speaker will be Lawrence McMillan of Long Beach, whose subject will be "Sports and Olympic" collecting. Following McMillan's talk, there will be an auction and also the usual trading period. Light refreshments will be available. Toastmistresses Meeting Thursday The next meeting of Fullerton Toastmistress will be a joint meeting with Toastmasters at Coda's Restaurant, Buena Park, California, the evening of Thursday, May 9. Reservations may be made for the dinner, which is $3.75, with Mrs. Louis Giacchetti, Buena Park, Taylor 8-4338. Social hour is 6:30 and dinner at 7. The theme of the evening will be "Once in a Life Time". Speakers scheduled are Mrs. Edna Stennett and Mrs. William Scaling, both of Fullerton. Toastmistress, Yvonne Adams, Buena Park.
