The bill, introduced by Assemblyman William E. Dannemeyer (D-Fullerton), will increase the Anaheim court to six judges and the Santa Ana court to four. It still must receive senate passage. Approval will also automatically add an additional marshal and court clerk for each judicial pointment. Crowded court calendars, increased filings and an exploding county population have been cited as the main reasons for the need. The North County Anaheim court serves 12 cities and more than half the total population. Another bill adding three additional superior court judges to the present 13 in the county is also pending before the state legislature. OC to Forego Building Plan Decision to not participate in the School Construction Systems Development Project was made this week by the Orange Coast Junior College Board of Trustees following a progress meeting with project personnel at Stanford. The project was originally drawn up to develop component parts which would be designed specifically for school construction needs and produced in quantity by manufacturers. Orange Coast was the only junior college to indicate interest in the project. Architects for the Golden West College campus advised board members that the recent meeting with project personnel indicated that participation in the project would not result in building economy. School Rifle Club Active An enthusiastic organization on the Western High School campus is the Rifle Club under the direction of sponsors Calvin Johnson and Billy Jones. Members using Remington 513T Target rifles, attempt to improve their target practice scores through practice at various rifle ranges. A future excursion planned includes a day at the Army Rifle Range at Fort McArthur. Members are carefully instructed in all areas of gunmanship by qualified personnel affiliated with the National Rifle Association. Rick TerBorch, Mal Duncan, and Kent Gunnufson have earned the rank of instructor through rigid written and shooting tests. Skilled members who have reached superior shooting status will compete in several intercollegiate contests and in the Riverside Invitational, Southern California State Championship. Club officers are Mike Smith, president; John Roach, vice president; Mark Kovacs, secretary; Bob Nadel, treasurer; Bob Miller, activity chairman; and cabinet members Rick TerBorch, Kent Gunnufson, and Mal Duncan.
