Variety Entertainment Set For 'Hi-Neighbors'
With entertainment ranging from talented fire dancers to skilled groups of horsemen performing together in intricate moving patterns, the annual Anaheim Hi-Neighbor days promises to keep young and old on the edge of their seats during the May 8-11 festival.
Some of the varied entertainment items being planned for the Lions sponsored gala city-wide get together were revealed this week by Clyde Martin, chairman for entertainment planned at La Palma park.
Martin declared there are a host of entertainment features on the schedule for the event with the range of acts promising to interest every member of the family.
"We are going to be privileged to hear," Martin said, "for the first time in Anaheim, the Anaheim Boy Scout Drum and Bugle Corps. This group has played in a number of cities and events around the state and nation but they have never performed in Anaheim on a city-wide program.
"Another piece of good fortune for us is the acceptance by the Savanna High School A Capella Choir. This will be a real treat for all of us."
"Last Sunday," Martin added, "the riding clubs in this area were all out to the LZZ ranch Carbon Canyon practicing formations they will put on at Palma. These will be amazing watch."

Kwikset to Hold Accountants Tour
Jerry Remington, special agencies director for the Orange City Chapter, National Association of Accountants has arranged the chapter members, the guests, and all other interested countants to tour the Kwikset plant, Anaheim, Thursday evening, May 9.
Kwikset, located at 416 E. ta Ana St., is a division of American Hardware Corporation, America's largest producer of identical lock sets.
Kwikset currently employs work force of 485 people and have long been a leader in heim's industrial community.
A pre-tour dinner will be held 6:00 p.m. at the new Odyssey taurant, corner of Los An Street and Cerritos Avenue Anaheim. The cost of dinner $4.00 per person. There will be charge for the plant tour.
Nearly $14 billion has been paid by GI's under the Veteran Administration home loan guarantee program, now 18 years old.

Anaheim Boy Scouts Drum, Bugle Corps in Preview
The Anaheim Boy Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps will be among the competing units performing at the first City of Hope Parade of Champions contest, William A. McGaffey, unit leader announced today.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 26, at Cerritos College Stadium.
Mrs. A. R. Clapp, Norwalk, is general chairman of the affair which is sponsored by City of Hope chapters and the All American Drum and Bugle Corps and Band Association of Southern California.
Mrs. Clapp said the contest would become an annual event, dedicated each year, to the memory of a deceased Drum and Bugle Corps worker, Stanford Mottaz, one of Lakewood's founders, will be honored at the initial meet. His widow, Mrs. Sally Mottaz, will present a Memorial Trophy to the top scoring unit at review ceremonies following the competition.
Headed by the Commander Perry Corps of Los Angeles, present champions who have just turned from Japan where they were guests of the Emperor, colorful event will feature Drum and Bugle Corps; five Fer or training, Corps; seven jorette ensembles; 14 guards and five drill teams.
Savanna Musicians Plan May 4 Concert
Savanna High School’s Music Department will present its Choral Spring Concert on May 4, 8 p.m. at Fremont Junior High School auditorium in Anaheim. Featured will be the A Cappella Choir, Madrigal Singers, and a Girls’ Ensemble in music from Mozart to modern.
Savanna’s A Cappella Choir has grown from a modest 35 voices to almost 90 in its second year. Several numbers of concert nature will be “Adoramus Te”.

Western High Plans Brunch At Disneyland
This year Western High School's Senior Brunch will be held June 12 in the Embassy Room of the Disneyland Hotel committee member Maureen Engquist has announced. "Graduate to Greatness" has been chosen as both the Brunch theme and the class of 1963 motto. Assisting Maureen in finding a location for the affair were seniors Linda Denoff, Virginia Brown, Richard Foster, Richard Jones, Sandy Johnson, Sandy Saks, and Karen Wise.
Those in charge of planning decorations are Adrienne Hjorth, Julie Heyer, Kathy McCaffrey, and Scheila Wright.
The committee in charge of entertainment is composed of Cris Bishop, Renee Burnett, Linda Denoff, Richard Foster, Richard Jones, Jenny Maxwell, Brenda Parks, Maureen Storms and Max Klein.
