Soroptomist Award Goes to Ball Youth James Ball, a senior at Savanna High School in Anaheim, was awarded the Anaheim Soroptimist Club Essay Contest Award at their recent meeting. Jim's essay will be forwarded for the regional contest. If successful there it will be entered in the national contest where an award of merit of $2500 will be presented. The topic was "My Responsibility as a Citizen — in the Family, in the Community and in the world", and a limit of 250 words was established. The contest was open to Anaheim area seniors and has been established to encourage youth to develop higher concepts of citizenship responsibility. HAWAIIAN TENOR—Charles K. L. Davis, reported to be a "rising young star in ranks of bel canto tenors," will be heard Friday, March 8, at 8:15 p.m. at the Anaheim High School auditorium. The concert is being sponsored by the Anaheim Community Concert group.
