Supervisors Order Ordinance Study Supervisor Phillips announced that the Board of Supervisors has ordered a study and modernization of their Zoning Ordinances. Supervisor Phillips said that the need for the updating of their ordinance is of paramount importance to the proper development of Orange County. Many of our zoning ordinances allow undesirable developments that would not be compatible with other properties in the surrounding area. The Board has instructed the Planning staff, and the special committee, to come up with recommendations within a 45-day period. It was also the thought of the Board that by streamlining these ordinances, they hope to expedite the approval of developments when filed with the County departments. “This is a much needed program, and certainly will be to the benefit of Orange County,” concluded Supervisor Phillips.
