St. Vincent de Paul Ready for Shoppers During the weeks before Christmas, St. Vincent de Paul Salvage Stores find increased activities as hundreds of marginal income families stream in to do their Christmas shopping. These are the families that, because of size or economic status, cannot afford to shop in the swank salons or even in the major department stores. Yet, St. Vincent de Paul stores offer them comparable gift items. They may not be brand new but they will be new to used toys that Santa will bring them. An elderly woman with a shawl over her head and bearing a large paper bag shops seriously in the garment department.
