GIANTS OF CALIFORNIA NATION'S LARGEST TREE** NATION'S LAKE The General Sherman redwood tree of Sequoia National Park is living proof of the giant strength of giant size. Neither centuries, nor fire, nor the fury of the elements have toppled this forest king from its throne. As the largest tree in the nation, 272 feet tall and 101 feet around, it stands where it sprouted over 3,000 years ago. Look for the extra strength of a giant when you choose your savings association, too. It means extra safety for your funds. And at California Federal, the nation's largest federal savings association, you'll find giant safety in full measure. What's more, quarterly dividends are paid at a high 4¾% annual rate. That's a higher rate than the national averages of all other types of investments, higher than most other insured savings institutions. California Federal's giant financial strength includes assets in excess of $800 million. Reserves are far above legal requirements. Seasoned management policies have weathered wars, booms and depressions for over 37 years. Remember this, too. Our middle name is Federal. Only a federal savings association is chartered and fully supervised by a permanent agency of TWELVE CONVENIENT OFFICES TO SERVE YOU ANAHEIM OFFICE: 600 N. Mallonee of Anaheim presented Mrs. Glemaker with the Club's first trophy at a banquet held at the Jolly Knight Restaurant. A judging committee, headed by Miss Pauline Buzzell, in charge of the Nursing School at Orange County General Hospital, selected the winner from entries received from most of the major hospitals throughout the county. The selection of Mrs. Glemaker was unanimous. Mrs. Glemaker is in charge of the Central Supply Room, Orange County hospital. She graduated from Northwestern School of Nursing in Minnesota and has been in her present position for 12 years. In addition to her nursing duties she has found time to participate in many school, civic and charity activities in Fullerton, Orange, Santa Ana, Anaheim and Garden Grove areas. Four years ago she organized the Anaheim Polio clinics under the auspices of the Anaheim Junior Chamber of Commerce. She is greatly interested in this work, possibly more so because she has nursed one of her daughters through a seige of Polio this past year. She has also been active in work for the City of Hope Community Chest and March of Dimes. Commander Claud F. O'Connor Executive Secretary, recited Mr. Glemaker's record of accomplishments to the members President Mallonee expressed the pleasure of the Club with the selection and announced the Nurse of the Year program would be carried on each year.
