Return Of A Friend Topic Of New Play
The return of a friend is occasion for a fiesta in the sparkling new comedy, "Amigos de Michoacan", opening a run of seven weeks beginning today at Padua Hills Theatre.
Virginia Alvarex shares the romantic spotlight with Jose Aguilar, newcomer to the stage at Padua Hills and a recent arrival in this country from his native Mexican state of Jalisco.
Songs and dances from romantic Michoacan are interwoven into the three-act comedy, written especially for The Mexican Players by Eligio Herrera, stage director at Padua.
"Amigos de Michoacan" will run today through April 14.
Presented Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Wednesday and Saturday matinees, "Amigos de Michoacan" is followed after every performance by merienda during which The Mexican Players fulfill patron requests for favorite songs and dances.
Reservations may be made by calling National 6-1288. Padua Hills is located three miles north of Foothill Blvd, Claremont.
