Valentine Ball Set By Beta Sigma Sat.
The Northern Orange County Council of Beta Sigma Phi will hold its Valentine Coronation Ball Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Anaheim Elks Lodge. The theme is "Silhouettes D'Amour".
Mrs. Samuel Butler, chairman, announced the music will be furnished by "The Arthurs" from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with the coronation taking place at 10.
Mr. and Mrs. Oran Bridges of Whittier are to be guests.
Mrs. Bridges, vice president of Southern California Council, will be on hand to begin the electronic Valentine Heart which automatically will select the 1962 Council Valentine Queen.
Past queens attending are Mmes. Fred Handy, Pi Pi, E. E. Dunn, Xi Theta Psi, Harry Yoak, Xi Eta Pi.
Large life-size black and white silhouettes with accents of fuchsia will add to the romantic garden atmosphere. A rhinestone tiara fashioned by Dr. James Boutross, designer of the Miss Universe crown, will be escorted to the throne by Miss Diane Dame, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dame, and Cadet Cpl. Mark Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Dunn.
The candidates being introduced by Mrs. Richard Howard, president of Northern Orange County Council, are: Mmes. George Ross, Mu Upsilon; Gordon Lydbeck, Pi Pi; Harold Porter, Xi Eta Pi of Garden Grove; Mmes. Richard Starr, Upsilon Omicron; Laurie Baker, Tau; Wm. A jubilant Anaheim to the YMCA Model League in Sacramento returned Sunday after achieving the first legislative bill to be by the youth senate and signed by the youth Peter Burnerts of Baker.
The Anaheim delegates Hi-Y, and Tri Hi-Y delegate advisors culminated planning and study with cal YMCA groups at the Model Legislature February State Capitol.

Sellim Franklin Endorsed by GOP For 71st State Attorney, has received the unanimous endorsement for the Republican nomination for the State Assembly in the 71st District from the district Republican Candidate Research Committee. Franklin was selected for the committee's endorsement after 10 potential candidates for the assembly seat were interviewed by the 73-member group, chairman Dora Hill of Newport Beach announced. A jubilant Anaheim delegation to the YMCA Model Legislature in Sacramento returned by train Sunday after achieving the distinction of carrying through the first legislative bill to be passed by the youth senate and assembly and signed by the youth governor, Peter Bumerts of Bakersfield.
The Anaheim delegation of 10 Hi-Y, and Tri Hi-Y delegates and advisors culminated months of planning and study with their local YMCA groups at the YMCA Model Legislature Feb. 8-10 at State Capitol.
High recognition was paid the efforts of the young Anaheim YMCA members by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Graves, co-advisors and Miss Nannie Elzinga of the Y staff.
David Patterson, Anaheim Union High School senior, presented the bill requiring minimum standards of roof fireproofing as Senate Bill 223 to the youth senate after it received first priority among bills approved by the youth Health and Safety Committee. Henry "Russ" Ruskin commandant of the Orange County Marine Corps League will present his survival program on atomic attack "Improvise to Survive."
Ruskin a veteran of 15 years Marine Corps and a graduate of The Marine Atomic Biological and Chemical Warfare School has transposed his military schooling to civilian training and needs.
