ANN LANDERS . . .
Fast Talker Turns
Thief Over Raincoat
Dear Ann Landers: My boy friend and I are having a disagreement. He's a fast talker and uses a lot of big words so I'm no match for him.
Last week we went to a nice place for dinner. There was a clothes rack by the door for men's coats. Ron hung his new raincoat there. After dinner his coat was gone. The manager said they are not responsible for such losses.
Two night later he went back alone and helped himself to a raincoat which was much nicer than his own — and it fit him perfectly. When he bragged to me about it I was shocked.
I say this is stealing. Ron says it is getting even. Who is right?
—DEADLOCKED
Dear Deadlocked: When a person takes something which does not belong to him it is stealing.
Ron's theory that he was "getting even" is a phony. The poor guy whose coat Ron heisted was not responsible for Ron's loss. Why should he be punished? He behaved like the man who knocks his toe on the bedpost and kicks the cat.
Dear Ann Landers: Nine of us girls have been playing poker together for over fifteen years. We've had our little differences but after all is said and done we are devoted to each other.
There are rumors around town about the husband of one of our poker circle. He is said to be having an affair with a young girl in friendship keep quiet. The way to make a mountain out of a molehill is to keep adding the dirt.
Dear Ann: I'm 21 and engaged to be married soon. My mother passed away when I was 18 but I've had good, solid up-bringing.
My fiance told me last night that his mother wants to have a talk with me on sex in marriage. She feels that since my own mother is dead it's her place.
Frankly there are some unanswered questions in my mind but she's the last person in the world I'd ask. She's the prying type who is constantly pumping for information. Recently she asked me some questions which I felt were none of her business. I had a hard time controlling my temper.
My fiance says she'll feel hurt if I refuse to have this talk. Should I sit there and grit my teeth to pacify her? — G.R.
Dear G.R.: No. Tell your fiance that the little chat is unnecessary, but you appreciate her interest.

Dear Ann Landers: Nine of us girls have been playing poker together for over fifteen years. We've had our little differences but after all is said and done we are devoted to each other.
There are rumors around town about the husband of one of our poker circle. He is said to be having an affair with a young girl in his office. We aren't gossip mongers, Ann, but when three of us hear the same story from different sources there must be something to it.
I asked my husband if we should tell the wife. He said to keep our noses out of it.
Don't you feel that in the name of friendship we should wise her up?

The Peralta Hills area, east of Anaheim and the Santa Ana River, is a step closer to becoming a part of this city.
Discussion
Techniques Now Available for Medical Diagnosis in Neuromus Disease" is the topic for discussion by Dr. Marvin Spiegel, state professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at A.E. H. Thomassen of New Beach, member of the Medi-advisory Committee of Or County Chapter, will con-
tion of a case: "Arthrogryposis."
Clothing fashions for the disabled will be shown by Mrs. M. Baxter, occupational therapist for Orange County Society for Crippled Children and Adults.
An unusual mechanized wheelchair, the work of Jerrold Spangler of Tustin, will be demonstrated by his wife, Mrs. Polly Spangler, who was named by the National Foundation as National March of Dimes Mother of the Year.
Demonstration of a new, simple and inexpensive hand-control system for disabled automobile drivers will be given by Chet Herbert, racing car manufacturer and authority.
Exhibits from the occupational therapy unit of Orange County Hospital will be on display.
Councilmen have officially received and filed the report from the Orange County Boundary Commission on the annexation.
No definite plans have been advanced by either the city or private developers for ultimate use of the area. From the past requests for development permits in the general Peralta Hills — Santa Ana River Canyon area, it could go to hilltop residence use, to commercial or even to light industrial use.
The southwest annexation, covering the unincorporated land on the west side of Brookhurst Road between Lincoln Ave. and Pacific railroad tracks to the south, is also under annexation proceedings by the city.
Final reading last week on an ordinance made Manchester and Dale annexation part of the city.
