Copeland took their marriage vows recently in the Church of Our Fathers in Cypress, the first couple to be married in the fifth and newest of the churches located in Lawn Memorial Parks. The church is an exact reproduction of historically famous St. John's Church in Richmond, Va., where Patrick Henry worshipped and where one uttered historic statements that made him one of America's leading patriots. Surrounded by banks of white and yellow flowers in the new church, the bride wore a floor-length gown of white imported Chantilly lace over taffeta. She carried a crescent-shaped bouquet of orchids and lily of the valley. The bride's sisters, Mrs. Karen Raines and Miss Stephani Roos, were matron and maid of honor. Lori Ellsworth was flower girl. Tom Douglas served as best man and ushering were Dick Hintshel and Douglas Drummond. Tudi Ellsworth was ring-bearer. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony A. Roos, 1330 E. 57th St. in Long Beach, following the ceremony. Anaheim FFA Wins at Fair Anaheim FFA, Leland Hanson leader, won second place for its booth illustrating chapter activities in the junior fair at the Los Angeles County Fair. "The Yorba Linda Cloverleaf 4-H Club won 10 blue ribbons in the 4-H home economics division." Y-Wives Hold Annual Brunch The Anaheim Y-Wives hold their annual back-to-school brunch as the opening of their morning activities. Mrs. Ruth Norton, Mrs. Betty Holden and Mrs. Helen Shoemale were in charge of the affair. Fresh fruit served in a scooped-out watermelon and an assortment of coffee cakes formed an attractive buffet that was enjoyed by about 30 members and guests attending. Mrs. Barbara Simon, new president, introduced the other new officers who briefly outlined this year's activities to come. Oct. 5, 12 and 19 Mrs. Mars Msas, a former physical education teacher, will give personal instruction in exercises. An evening Halloween costume party and a class in mosaic are also scheduled for the near future. Anaheim wives are particularly urged to attend and hear the speakers on Oct. 2L and 28. Store Woolworth Store OC Art Group Names Speaker The Orange County Art Association will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 8:15 p.m. at the Fullerton Public Library. The guest speaker will be the noted author and artist, Stephen Longstreet, who will speak on "The Decline and Fall of the Avant Garde." The exhibit in the library gallery for October will be paintings and drawings by Longstreet done on the fighting fronts of World War II and is entitled "Mr. Everyman's War." The public is invited to the associations meeting and may view Longstreet's exhibit during the month of October. Exhibits for the month will include paintings by Fessor Arnold at the Book Gallery in Anaheim; paintings by Marie Harris at the Orange Library; paintings by Anne Krickrehm at the Glendale Federal Savings Bank in Fullerton; a mosaic show at the Security First National Bank of Buena Park; and a water color show at the Buena Park Library featuring works of Joie Barr and of Bradford Voight. Library Gets New Dictionary Orange County State's library has received notice that the third edition of Webster's New International Dictionary (the unabridged edition) will be available in the next few weeks, according to E. W. Toy, Jr., college librarian. This is the first completely new edition of the most important American dictionary since 1934, although partial revisions of a minor sort have been made in later printings. Toy explained. He also announced that the library will have copies of the dictionary available for examination by those who may wish to purchase their own copies priced at $47.50 each. OBITUARIES DOUGLAS, D. D., of 617 W. Broadway, Anaheim, 80 years of age, passed away Monday at the Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital after a prolonged illness. A native of Cordova, Alabama, he had lived in Anaheim for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Club, Anaheim Park Club, a member of the A.F.M.M and the Order of the Eastern Star in Birmingham, Alabama. A member of the First Southern Illustrious Church of Anaheim where funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Emery P. Collins officiating. Friend coiled at the Baggott & Troutman Chapel of the Bellk 1700 S. Los Angeles St. Tuesday evening to pay their respects. Surviving is his beloved wife Knighton H. Douglas; a daughter Mrs. C. Ross Dean of Anaheim, Dr. A. R. Douglas of Collinsville, Ill.; four brothers, Arlington Houston, Tex., Henry of Lakes, Fl., Garvey of Birmingham, Ala., and Goye of Bellingham, Ma., and Goye of Bellingham, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Emily Harford of Pilmingham, and seven grandchildren.
