EDITORIAL
CENSORSHIP FOR WHOM
Censorship, voluntary or otherwise, despite pleas from the New Frontier, is not needed in these moments of international danger.
A free press under responsible editorship can do much to win the philosophical fight against communism.
President Kennedy, a troubled man in the shadow of this nation's greatest peril, has posed one of the greatest dilemmas of our time.
The President has called attention to, first, the need for greater public information, second, the need for greater official secrecy.
To us this appears as one of the greatest contradictions of our age.
Rarely should there be suppression of facts. And never must there be distortion and fabrication of the lies.
Without a free press neither of these aims can be achieved.
MUST REMEMBER
Senator Barry Goldwater says: "When liberals talk loosely about this country's lost purpose, I suggest they might remember that one of our Republic's purposes is freedom, and that we have remained free for nearly two centuries, and that we must be listed as one of the greatest achievements of history."

REWARD TURNCOATS?
Three "turncoat" GIs who were captured in Korea behaved with utter disloyalty while in prison camp and refused repatriation to go to Communist China.
They now have been awarded back pay and allowances by the United States Supreme Court.
Isn't that carrying the "GI Bill" a little far?
Letters to the Editor
The following letter was received today at the Anaheim YMCA from John F. Kohlenberger of 314 N. Philadelphia St., son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Kohlenberger, who represents the United States YMCA's in a summer work project in Sino County. Liberia, Kohlenger is a student at George Williams College in Chicago preparing for professional YMCA work.
August 19, 1961.
Sixteen students from the American Student Young Men's Christian Association and two from the German YMCA have been participating in a Buildings for Brotherhood Project Work Camp in Sino County in Liberia, West Africa. The group has been very active in building not only the building but in forming close relationships with high officials of the government and the people of the local community. The group has been observing social, economical, and educational development of the Liberian government. The work camp purpose is to create a meeting place for students in the YMCA to meet together and exchange ideas.
The YMCA building project is 50 ft. by 42 ft. and will consist of a multi-purpose room, storage room, office, and restroom. The construction of the building is to be done by the students.
