Adventist Pastor Feted at Picnic
The Anaheim Seventh Day Adventist Church said goodbye to Pastor L. E. Fletcher and his family in a picnic held at Pearson Park. Over one hundred and fifty members gathered around tables decorated in a Hawaiian theme. Pastor Fletcher has been called to the Hawaiian Mission where he will serve as head of the Sabbath School, Home Missions, Public Relations, and Radio and TV departments.
He, with his family, came to the Anaheim Church as its first pastor, where he welcomed 112 Charter Members in December of 1958. He has watched his church membership grow to over three hundred in the short 2½ years he served as pastor.
The new pastor, Erwin H. Lehnhoff, received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Columbia Union College, Washington, D.C. in 1938. He was ordained into the ministry in 1942, and received his first call to the Jersey City New Jersey Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served also in the Newark and Paterson, New Jersey Churches, Cincinnati and Cleveland Churches and for the past seven years has served as pastor of the Shreveport, Louisiana Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Pastor Lehnhoff is married, and has two children—Dwight, age 14, and Sharman, age 12. Mrs. Lehnhoff received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and History, at Columbia Union College.

Joan E. McCauley, personnelman first class, USNR, received her commission as an ensign in the Naval Reserve at a ceremony during the traditional Birthday luncheon at the Nineteenth National WAVES Reunion at the Statler Hilton. Captain Winifred Q. Collins, USN, director of women in the Navy, swore in the new officer and Lt. Jo Elaine Boss, Los Angeles Wave Recruiting officer, presented to her the gold bars she wore as an ensign.
The new ensign, a native of Los Angeles, is the daughter of Mrs. Henry H. Bingham of 300 West Katella, Anaheim, and of Herbert G. McCauley, 37 South Mariposa, Los Angeles. She attained the Navy in 1952 and served for five years in Washington, D.C., and at Pearl Harbor, attaining the rate of personnelman second class. In 1956, she was discharged. She attended Los Angeles City College for two years and then transferred to UCLA where she was graduated in January of this year, having majored in English literature.
Miss McCauley, whose college career was made possible by the GI bill, decided last January to "repay the Navy" by joining the Naval Reserve. She has been associated with Organized Surface Division 11-17, drilling once a week at the Naval Reserve Training Center.
