The Woman's World SECTION B, PAGE 1 Knott’s to Be Scene Of Bridge Benefit Giant-size Easter eggs and pastel-colored spring flowers will provide the atmosphere for "Easter Time—Fashion Time," the theme of the Orange County branch of Association for Childhood Education, at their annual dessert bridge benefit. Miss Sarah Hull of 554 S. Olive St., president of the association, has announced that the Garden Room of Knott’s Berry Farm will be the locale of the March 18 event. Directing the fashion show will be Florence Smales. Fashions for spring will be highlighted. Following the show bridge will be played and many door prizes will be awarded. Center St. OCSC Budget Up 49 Percent Governor Brown has asked the Legislature to appropriate $1,449,220 for Orange County State College operating expenses for the 1961-62 fiscal year. This is a 49 percent increase over the current year's appropriations, W. B. Langsdorf, president of the college, said. In addition, $8,293,400 is requested to build the first perimeter. Maureen Forley, executive director of Toastmasters International, nounced from its Orange County headquarters this week. Forley said the new directive of clubs now being sent to Toastmasters in 40 counties and territories throughout free world lists a totl of 7 clubs. California, he said, has 44 The world headquarters of Toastmasters International in Santa Ana where the club was started in 1924. There are now 20 clubs in Orange County. There are two "float" Toastmasters clubs. They aboard the USS Everglades in the USS Saratoga. Listed for the first time are clubs in Bahia Brazil, Cyprus, Kwa jalee Mexico and Turkey. Miss from the 1961 director is a in Havana, which ceased operations during the past year. There are still two clubs the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo, Cuba. Texas ranks second to California with 150 clubs. Outside the United States and Canada the greatest concentration of clubs is in Scotland, where there are 76. Presiding as general chairman of the project, Mrs. Stebbins said the event will be a dinner in the Yorba Room at Buffums', Santa Ana. Highlighting the program will be a parade of stewardess uniforms dating back to 1933. Proceeds will go to the Kiwis' current philanthropy project—Girls' Town at Arlington. SAC to Present Wartime Drama "Emotions which, especially in wartime, resist statement" are shown in John Patrick's "The Hasty Heart," to be presented by the Santa Ana College Players today, tomorrow and Saturday in Phillips Hall. The plot of "The Hasty Heart" emanated from the author's experiences as an ambulance driver during the second World War. Similarities between the author's life and that of Yank., in the play, are apparent. Both were ambulance drivers attached to the British; both lost their parents at an early age; and both were influenced by their grandfathers. STUDENTS FROM 18 FOREIGN COUNTRIES ATTENDING OCC Orange Coast College has represented on campus this spring semester 46 unofficial ambassadors from 18 foreign countries who are gathered at the OCC campus to gain knowledge from the American way of learning. They hail from Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and North America. Classes ranging from agriculture to petroleum engineering are being studied by the 40 men and six women. Iran has sent the largest number of students, 21 men and one woman, with half of the students coming from the capital city of Tehran.
