State's '60 Deer Bag Was 75,584
California deer hunters bagged 75,584 bucks during the year, the State Department of Fish and Game announced this week.
The count does not include deer taken in special antlerless or either-sex hunts, the tabulation of which will be completed in mid-January.
The 1960 buck harvest was the second best season in state history, being just 18 less than 1954's all-time record of 75,602.
