Anaheim-Garden Grove Committee of Orange County Philharmonic Society staged a benefit party launching the first in series of four concerts scheduled by the group.
A rummage sale will be held at 247 W. Center Street, Anaheim on September 29, 30 and Oct. 1 by members of Our Lady of the Rosary YLI.
Mrs. Allen Koch is assuming the presidency of Anaheim Assistance League following the resignation of Mrs. Arthur Roque who suffered a severe fracture of the hip in a recent fall. Mrs. Koch is the wife of the Orange County road commissioner.
A couples' Bridge Section is underway as a new part of Anaheim Jr. Ebell Club. The meetings are held the fourth Friday of each month in members' homes. For information contact Mrs. Harri McDonald.

Marywood Auxiliary
Holds Pantry Shower
The first meeting of the Marywood Auxiliary, Marywood School, Anabeim, was held at the school Sept. 13.
The meeting was a traditional pantry shower for the Sisters of Providence who conduct the school. It also presented an opportunity for the Sisters and lay members of the faculty to be introduced. Senior mothers hostess ed the social hour which followed the business meeting.
Plans for a Membership Coffee were scheduled for early October Old and new friends of Marywood will be invited.
A fashion show will be held at the Anaheim Bowl on Nov. 5.

Dispeyland with six top Dixieland bands participating in the gala show. The musicians will float down Frontierland River and swing into their old time Dixieland favorites. A fabulous program has been planned for the evening, wrapped up in one big "package" ticket, all rides included.
The 1960 Los Angeles County Fair swung open its gates last Friday to a record crowd. The 33rd annual event is more fabulous and bigger than ever and is slated to run through Sunday, Oct. 2.
Anaheim entries competing at the Fair are: Domestic Arts: Myrta Saunders, 1780 W. Broadway, dolls; Junior Fair: Gail and Georgiana Martin, both of 5582 Orange, clothing and electrical items; George and Ted Stouder, 3352 W. Orange, rabbits, poultry and electrical items; Danny L. Castelman, 11641 Moasier, insect collection, and Dallas Rogers, 9541 Holder Rd., poultry and rabbits.

Upsilon Omicron Holds Coffee Hour
Upsilon Omicron chapter of Beta Sigmi Phi held its first meeting of the year at the home of President Millie Griffith.
The Fall Rushing Program began Saturday, Sept. 17, with a coffee hour at the home of Mrs. Joe Dame. Prospective rushees were invited for a swim in the afternoon.
Plans for visiting the Geriatrics Ward of the Orange County Hospital for the year was joyfully accepted by the chapter and the service project has already begun.
A "Pot and Pan Party" will be held after the cultural program as a ways and means project at the next meeting in the home of Mrs. George Cesped.

The Fremont Junior Tri-Hi-Y council met at the home of the council president, Janice Wilson, Janice served enchiladas at a 5:30 dinner. Those present were Janice Wilson, president; Christine Heffern, treasurer; Betty Buis, worship; Janice Parslow, world service, and Carol Gay, publicity.
The late afternoon was spent in making plans for inter-club events for the Fremont clubs during the months from September to January.
A joint potluck is planned for the end of this month. Oct. 22 the girls will have a hayride and winter roast. Nov. 5 is smorgasbord time and December will bring about the annual Christmas party with Snow Camp being planned for late January.

Lutheran Members Hold Fall Meeting
The September meeting of the Ladies' Guild of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour was held at the parish hall, 1521 W. Orangethorpe.
Two short skits were presented demonstrating the right and wrong way to make parish calls and to greet those attending services.
Refreshments were served by Mrs. Orrin Morey and Mrs. Bert Hendrickson.
