SAM'S SEAFOOD now seats 600 hungry people with acres and acres of parking right off Coast Hwy. This huge Polynesian structure is surrounded by gas torches and two immense Tiki gods at the entrance. For your dining you can choose from the many fabulous rooms. The Marina Room, the Family Room (yes, they still cater to the little ones), the Volcanic Room, the Tropic Patio (for you romantics, dining outside surrounded by plants from the Islands and a beautiful 15-foot waterfall cascading down great black volcanic rock). If you wish you may dine in the Tropic Room that features a wall of window looking over the patio. If you desire to imbibe, the Outrigger Room is for you. SAM'S SEAFOOD still features their gift shop and fish market. I dined here Friday evening. They opened their doors for the first time at 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. they were overflowing. Everyone was so impressed with what they saw. For dinner I ordered Barracuda (I had never tried Barracuda) and it was a delightful eating experience. It was suggested to me by "The Old Pioneer" Hal Sac kett (he writes a syndicated column, "Fishing News & Views"). Hal and his brother Eldon were dining at SAM'S, celebrating Eldon's birthday. These two are interesting personalities. Hal is known as the father of mobile trailers and Eldon is an excellent musician (he is manager of the L.B. Elks Band). Not only does SAM'S SEAFOOD specialize in their famous fish dinners but they now feature Polynesian delicacies, such as Lobster Chungking (in a tasty sauce of minced pork, water chestnuts, green onions and eggs). CHAMP BUTLER, well known recording artist, nately at The Domino Restaurant. The PARISCENE in Orange is a luxurious nite spot and one of my favorites. As you enter you are suddenly transported to a sidewalk cafe in old Paree with cute gals to serve you in apache dress. The food is great in the continental manner. Stop during cocktail hour from 5 p.m. You will be treated with tasty tidbits with your drinks. Larry Foy entertains nitely. He is top-notch and so clever with the keyboard.
