The Woman's World Section B, Page 1 Clergy Members Appointed to Board Of Directors of Lutheran Hospital Seven members of Anaheim area churches have been appointed to the Orange County Lutheran Hospital Assn. board of directors, it was announced today. They are: the Rev. Harry Stief, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, and Clyde Crouse of that church; the Rev. Lester Muhly, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, of Olive, and Ronald Hoge, Charles Johns and Floyd Prewitt, all of St. Paul’s, and Calvin Johnson of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. The association’s board will govern operation of Martin Luther Hospital now under construction in Anaheim. The inter-community 150-bed hospital at Romneya Dn. and Euclid Ave. is scheduled to open about Nov. 1. It will be operated as a non-profit institution. Weekly meetings of the association board of directors are now being held. Ladies Auxiliary Features Pot Luck Catholic Social Alumni Club Has Anaheim Meet The Catholic Alumni Club of Orange County met Sunday in St. Anthony Claret Hall, Anaheim. Guest speaker was Danny Davey, who showed slides of the Indians of Arizona who received assistance from him during the past 15 years. The group will attend the Hollywood Bowl performance of "Curtain Time" Aug. 20. The program features Carmen Dragon, Jean Fenn, David Poleri, Earl Wrightson and the Roger Wagner Chorale. Communion Sunday will be Aug. 21 in St. Phillips Church, Fullerton, and breakfast will be in the La Cuisine Restaurant after which the group will gather at the beach for the day. Miniature golf will be enjoyed Aug. 28 by members who are not attending the National Convention at Colorado Springs, Colo. The Weekly meetings of the association board of directors are now being held. Ladies Auxiliary Features Pot Luck Members of the Anaheim Carpenters Auxiliary 759 gathered at the home of Mrs. Chris Easton, Auxiliary president, for a social evening. The Eastons' patio was setting for the gathering which included husbands of members. A potluck supper was served, followed by dancing in the out-of-doors to records. Communion Sunday will be Aug. 21 in St. Phillips Church, Fullerton, and breakfast will be in the La Cuisine Restaurant after which the group will gather at the beach for the day. An excellent example is today's recipe made with vanilla pudding mix, or it can be made ahead of time, then come from your refrigerator a cue when it's time for a happy ending for the meal. MOLDED FLUFF PUDDING 1 package Jell-O Vanilla Pudding ¼ cup cold water and Pie Filling 1 egg white, stiffly beaten ½ cups milk 1 cup sliced fresh peaches 1 envelope (1 tablespoon) gelatin Combine pudding mix and milk in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil. Remove from heat. Combine gelatin and cold water; mix well. Add hot pudding and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Cool slightly, then fold in beaten egg white. Pour into large mold. Chill until firm. Garnish with sliced fresh peaches. Makes 6 servings. Local Musicians To Be Heard at Laguna Concert The growth of Orange County industrially has brought to this area many skilled orchestral players who have been members of Symphony Orchestras in other parts of the country. For the first time this group, numbering 70 players, will be heard in the Irvine Bowl at Laguna Beach on Saturday evening, Aug. 27. A number of these musicians are members of the Anaheim Symphony which has been under the leadership of Eugene Ober, a gifted young conductor, for four years. Tickets for the event can be obtained at the Varon Music Company, 157 W. Center St., Anaheim. Soloists for the gala benefit are Marilyn Horne, soprano; and Edith Schiller, pianist. Assemblyman Richard T. Hanna seemed to be having a wonderful time at the Song of Italy lunar event. Reading Workshop For Anaheim Area Miss Josephine Crossfield conduct a reading workshop at Chrysler Training Center School and 2, George C. Williams, assistant superintendent of education Centralia School District, nounces. Letters have been inviting all primary teachers, cipals and consultants to attend The Center is located at La Palma and Brookhurst Aves, where Palma crosses the Santa Ana Freeway in Anaheim. HERE AND THERE By GINNIE BODNER Registrations have begun for Labor Day weekend family sponsored annually by the Anaheim YMCA. Several hundred family members are expected to attend the event at Camp Osceola in Barton area of San Bernardino County on Sept. 3-5. Employees of Interstate Electronics Corporation of Anaheim are guests of their employer, Dr. Federman, when Orange City Philharmonic Society prepares its annual Symphony Under Stars at Irvine Bowl, Laguna Beach, Saturday evening, Aug. 27. Federman purchased a $500 box of tickets for this musical event. Next Saturday night is the date by the Orange County Chapel of the Women's American Oration for Rehabilitation and Nursing's BBQ. The Shade Plant Show is scheduled for Aug. 20 and 21 at the county grounds. Trudi Gall Borden and Ronald Huebert were married in a double ring ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church. The Anaheim couple left for a Northern California honeymoon. The lovely bride is a graduate of Anaheim High School and is currently taking a medical assistant's training course. The bridegroom is a graduate of Fullerton High. He is presently attending Chapman College and upon his graduation in February plans to enter the Presbyterian ministry. Orange County motorists willJECT planning for a CHP aerial patrol is approved. The commissioner of the California Highway Patrol has indicated that he will apply for funds in next year's budget to finance airplanes to be assigned to the aerial force. Planes cannot spot the speeder, take a license number and issue a ticket—the pilot merely spots the violator, notifies the patrolman who stops the car and follows through with the usual procedures. Hal McLaughlin, representative of Title Insurance & Trust Company, Santa Ana, presented TIT's famous "Silver Dollar Quiz." Questions pertaining to real estate were asked. Selected members presenting correct answers were rewarded with a silver dollar. Sid Snyder won the five-dollar jackpot with the nearest estimate of the number of new lots filed in the City of Anaheim in 1959. Sid's figure was 1499 lots—actual number was 1476 lots. The project has the blessings of the city officials, Chamber of Commerce and leading citizens of Anaheim and was meant to be a day of "window shopping in the community," said Mrs. Richard Lower, co-ordinating chairman.
