Approval of preliminary designs of a new headquarters office building for Anaheim Savings and Loan Association was announced by F. A. Yungbluth, President. The $400,000 project, which was designed by Stiles and Robert Clements, will replace the existing home office of the firm. During the demolition of their present headquarters, the company will operate from temporary offices, according to J. Bernard Soto, Manager. An adjacent property will be demolished and the site incorporated into their new headquarters, he added. "We hope that our new building will encourage other property owners in Anaheim to build or remodel so as to enhance the central civic area," Soto said. DESIGNED AND PLANNED to allow for future expansion, the two-story structure will contain 10,600 sq. ft. of interior space. Anaheim Savings and Loan will occupy the ground floor and part of the upper story. An elevator with separate exterior entrance will serve the upper floor, part of which will be leased. The exterior of the building is enhanced by landscaping, large glass areas and decorative concrete brick masonry. Sun glare is controlled by the use of porcelain louvers and cantilevered canopies. The new building will provide spacious interior areas for the convenience of Anaheim Savings and Loan Association's customers. The fully air-conditioned building has space for future expansion.
