Methodist Union to Hear County Hospital Head
The director of the Orange County General Hospital, Mr. Ronald D. Powell, was this month's speaker at the regular meeting of the Orange County Methodist Union, which was held Monday evening, April 11, at the First Methodist Church in Fullerton. The hospital administrator's message concerned the accomplishments and needs of the public institution, located in the City of Orange.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner served by the ladies of the Fullerton church. In attendance were Methodist laymen and ministers representing all the churches of this denomination in the county. Officers of the Union include Edward Marcus and Al Bonntey of Santa Ana, George Dixon of Garden Grove, Rev. H. A. McPheeters of Anaheim. Minister of the host church is Dr. Winston Trever; Rev. James L. Wiggins is associate pastor.
The Union is currently undergoing reorganization. Among the proposed changes, intended to enhance its usefulness and prestige, are a plan for regular election of delegates, establishment of a board of trustees to engage in church extension work, and reduction of the number of social meetings from a monthly basis to not more than four per year hereafter.

North County Scouts To Hold Jubilee Show In La Palma Stadium
On June 3-4, 1960, the Northern Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, will present a Scout-ORama. This will be the second major activity in the local celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Scouting.
Plans are well under way for this spectacular Scouting Show, which will be held in La Palma Stadium, in Anaheim.
A Scout-ORama is the "County Fair" of Scouting. Each unit in the Council will be provided with an opportunity to display to the public, parents and friends some part of the program of Cubbing, Scouting, or Exploring.
Units already on the calendar are: Cub Pack 165, Anaheim, Outdoor Recreation in California; Cub Pack 103, Anaheim, Scout Safety; Troop 3, Buena Park, First Aid; and Troop 84, Buena Park, Pack Racks.
The show will also provide competition among the units on the basis of ticket sales, and on the quality of activity and materials, methods of operation and interest to the general public of the booth displays. Award money will go to the units who can use it for any of their programs or projects. Many troops will be able to use awards to send some of the scouts to camp.
The general chairman for the Scout-O-Rama is George Grey, manager of the Broadway Store, in Anaheim. John Reeves, vice-president of Viking Trailers, Anaheim, is ticket sales chairman. He is being assisted in the four districts by Dan Rowland, Anaheim; M. H. Watney, La Habra; Paul Griffith, Buena Park; and ask Tielrooy of Fullerton.
Arrangements for the stadium have been made by John Hoch, Anaheim, chairman of that committee. Walt Reisterer, of Buena Park, is in charge of the camping arrangements. Boys who will be Owens, president of the council, is handling arrangements for special guests.
Wayne Herbst, Fullerton businessman, heads up the participation committee, while Clary Stull, of Fullerton, is in charge of the activities. Judging will be handled by Vic Dearinger, of Fullerton.
Dental Airlift
Marine 'Copters Carry Dentists To Ships at Sea
MCAS El Toro, Santa Ana, Calif., April 1—The Third Marine Aircraft Wing's 13th Force Dental Company scored a first in Marine aviation last Thursday, when the unit was airlifted by helicopter to the USS Thetis Bay, a helicopter carrier.
WHILE ABOARD THE carrier, the dental company participated in a dental landing and field exercise named DENTIFLEX-60. During this exercise, dental officers and technicians became familiar with helicopter airlifting procedures for personnel and equipment, and with life aboard a naval vessel.
The El Toro dental company is one of eight units serving with the three Marine Divisions, the three Marine Aircraft Wings, and with Force troops on both the east and west coasts.
