LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT, LABOR SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY Clerk on the 7th day of April, 1900, and will be opened at said date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. In public, in the City Council Chamber in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workable manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement to wit: The Placentia Avenue Sewer Improvement, consisting of the construction of art 5-inch V.C.P. sewer lateral complete in place, in Placentia Avenue from Anaheim approximately 600 feet south of Sycamore Street, in the City of Anaheim, including trenching, backfill, resurfacing, manholes, wyeer and appurtenant work, as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer, Job No. 118; and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at its next regular or adjourned regular meeting for action thenceby said City Council.
PURSUANT to the provisions of

wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work. It being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours past city time the bidder wage shall be that fraction of the two-dime wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours.
The overdue pay establishing the rate paid by the builder will be followed with follow-up. Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Tuesday. When work is in one day or four intervals of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. daily night such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the September, 1956 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.-C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Houses in nearby cities may be demolished unless otherwise authorized by local government. Day laborers must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10) per cent of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 6:00 o'clock P.M. on the 7th day of April, 1940, which time sealed proposals will be opened publicly by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Sealed proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked in upper left hand corner "Sealed proposals for construction of an 8-inch V.C.P. sewer lateral in penita Ave. from Sycamore St. to South of Sycamore. Job No. 118 together with the name and address of the bidders. The above mentions check or bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will into a contract if awarded to and will be declared successful bidder refuse to accept contract after being notified by City of Anaheim. Contract shall be entered into by contractor of notice of the award extended by the City of Anaheim. Kid must specify use of each subcontractor who perform work or labor or services to the contractor in or after the construction work or service to be performed by contractor of notice of the award extended by the City of Anaheim. Subcontractor. If any bid submission fails specify a contract submitter to perform this contract without further acceptance.
Plans and specifications may be trained from the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the City Hall, Anaheim, California for the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00) picked up at said offices, or the Six Dollars ($6.00) if forwarded mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain quate protection of all his work adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of contract and to furnish the City public liability insurance in amount not less than $100,000.00 injuries including accidental death any one person, $100,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount than $50,000.00 and public liability insurance in an amount than $50,000.00 used by him whether on or off premises in an amount of $50.00 for injuries to any one person $100,000.00 for any one accident, property damage in an amount $10,000.00 Compensation and emp
improvement consisting of the construction of an 8-inch J.C.P. sewer basement in the city of Anaheim, from Sycamore Street to approximately 500 feet south of Sycamore Street, in the City of Anaheim, including trenching, backfill, resurfacing, manholes, wye, and appurtenant work, as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1779 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute this contract. The above mentioned or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter a contract, if awarded to him, will be declared successful by the careful bidder refused by said firm after being denied the contract after being denied by the City of Anaheim, which bid must specify the name of the subcontractor who will form work or labor or render access to the contractor in or about construction or work or improvement of the which bid submitted by each contractor. If any bid submitted by such contractor specifies a subcontractor submitting and agrees to perform the work or labor or render access to furnish a faithful performance in an amount equivalent to 100% of the contract price, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in the United States substantially all from articles, materials and supplies mined, produced or manufactured, as the case may be. In the United States pursuant to the provisions of City Attorney as to form and remedy before acceptance, and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the Clerk of the City of Anaheim at City Hall, Anaheim, California, the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00). The contractor shall be responsible that all employees of subcontractors are protected by such insurance. Such insurance shall be furnished by companies satisfactory to the City and subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and efficiency.
The successful bidder should submit subcontractor and company employees by him in the performance or sale work or any part of the work of public improvement will be required to use only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in the United States substantially all from articles, materials and supplies mined, produced or manufactured, as the case may be. In the United States pursuant to the provisions of City Attorney as to form and remedy before acceptance.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Non-collision Affidavit, copies of which may be obtained from the City Clerk.
The successful bidder or bidder shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality to the extent permitted by law, and reserves the further right to make an award to the lowest responsible bidder found and determined to serve the best interests of the City of Anaheim.
