The Woman's World EDITED BY YSABEL CARDEN SECTION A—PAGE 8 SCIENCE AWARDS Many Women Eligible Says Awards Chairman Although not exclusive to women, the third annual scientist and industrialist awards of the year may well go to women in California who outdistance both men and other women in achievements during 1959. Dr. Lee A. Dubridge, chairman of the awards program sponsored by the California Museum of Science and Industry, points out that the nominations are open to all Californians who have contributed to the advancement of scientific knowledge or industrial progress. Nominees for the industrial award will also be judged for their efforts in improving the welfare of their employees, quality of products or processes, and, in general, the overall condition of the community in which they operate. Many women in California are eligible to nomination for the $5000 award, according to Dr. DuBridge, and anyone may nominate a woman outstanding for her scientific or industrialist contributions, or she may 'Show and Tell' Teachers' Art Exhibit Slated Sixth annual program to be sponsored by members of the Orange County Art Teachers' association will be held today in Santa Ana Valley high school. One courageoumother we know INVITED 30 young'uns about 15 years to an overnight PJ party. The day before she had polished the glass door to the patio. On young lass paid her the su-preme compliment by walking right through it! Much excitement with ambulances and hysterical misses; but no major tragedy. Last week the Tri-High club Live Yers held a slumber party in the home of clu-leader Mrs. Dixie Heffern. Everything okay, Mrs. Heffern? Does your husband sing in the shower? How's he sound? None of our business, of course, but there's nothing like singing to take one's mind off the bomb and the income tax.
