New Prexy Girl Scout Council Board Told Mrs. Oscar Schultz, volunteer scouter in Anaheim for the past four years, was installed as president of the board of directors of the Anaheim Girl Scout council at the annual meeting held at the Chrysler building in Anaheim last week. Mrs. Schultz began her scouting service when she became co-leader of Brownie Troop 18 at the Horace Mann school. She is now co-leader of Girl Scout Troop 18. DURING the summer of 1957 Mrs. Schultz was assistant director of Brownie day camp for the Anaheim council, and has been program chairman for the past three years. The past few months she has been chairman Youth Theater Will Present 'The Tin Soldier' "The Steadfast Tin Soldier," a special musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson story, will be the third offering of the season by the Anaheim Children's theater. The production will be staged by the Sutro Theater for Children of Los Angeles at the Anaheim union high school auditorium in two performances on Saturday, Feb. 27. "Tin Soldiers" is the musical of the theater's series and follows two successful earlier productions for the local youngsters. THE SUTRO thespians will be MRS. OSCAR SCHULTZ of a committee formed to revise board committee structure in the Anaheim council. In addition to her scout work, Mrs. Schultz is an active member and past president of the Northern Orange county chapter of the Children's Home society, and a board member of the Anaheim Memorial Hospital guild. SHE HAS ALSO, during the past year, served as a member of the civic building committee of the Citizens Advisory committee of the city of Anaheim. The new board president is also a recipient of an honorary life membership from the Orange Community PTA council. The president and her board of directors were installed by Miss Ada Wilcox, principal of Thomas Jefferson elementary school in Anaheim. Miss Wilcox was instrumental in the formation of Girl Scouting in Anaheim, and has been an active scout worker since the formation of the council. THE SUTRO thespians will be under the direction of Burdette Fitzgerald, who has done much to pioneer the children's theater movement in the bay area. Highlighting the four musical numbers will be two large grand pianos on stage as accompaniment. Morning curtain is set to rise at 10:30 o'clock to be followed by a matinee at 1:30 p.m. All elementary school children are invited, and those who do not have season passes may obtain tickets at the recreation office. THE ANAHEIM Park and Recreation department and the Junior Ebell club are co-sponsoring the series. Gold Star Mothers To Reign at D.A.V. Heading the evening's luminary aries will be Marni Nixon, famed for her roles in opera and musical comedy, as soloist with symphony orchestras and for television performances. She has been the "voice" for several leading actresses who play in musical roles. Famed Hebrew School at University of California A delegation of local congressional leaders will be among 1,000 guests in the Beverlyton at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, December 14, when University of Jerusalem holds its annual Founder Day Dinner. The event will celebrate school's 12th Anniversary. Bethels Mark Visit of Grand Guardian Under the direct supervision of Mrs. Ziba Johnson, deputy grand guardian of the State of California, a joint meeting was held Jan. 26 at Buena Park Masonic Temple with Bethel 5 Anaheim, Pathal 278 Vorba Linda and Bethel 219 Buena Park of the International Order of Job's Daughters in honor of the official visit of Mrs. Mildred J. Mikalish, grand guardian of the State of California, and Mr. Richard Simon, associate grand guardian, state of California. On their official visit they were accompanied by Mrs. Kacer, grand marshal and Jack Kacer, past associate grand guardian, State of California. This was a regular meeting of Buena Park Bethel at which time seven candidates were initiated into the order. Theme of the meeting was "Friends from University of" World War I Unit Seats New Officers Anaheim Barracks of Veterans of World War I and its auxiliary installed officers during a potluck dinner recently at American Legion Hall. New auxiliary officers are Elizabeth Lomore, president;; Laura Kamber, senior vice president; Ella Volz, junior vice president; Veda Dutzl, treasurer, and Sally Handel, secretary. Couples' Valentine Party Set Saturday The Couples' club of West Anaheim Methodist church will meet Saturday, Feb. 13, at 8 p.m. for its annual progressive Valentine party. University of Judaism Dinner A delegation of local congregational leaders will be among 100 guests in the Beverly Hill at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. when University of Judah holds its annual Founders Day Dinner. The event will celebrate the school's 12th Anniversary as West Coast branch of the Jew- Theological Seminary of America, and here from New York to appear as guest speaker will be Dr. Louis Finkelstein,ancellor of the seminary. Represented at the dinner will be Anaheim's Temple with Emet, led by Rabbi Aaron Field and President Fred Fine. Dr. Finkelstein, who will be flying his first visit to Los Angeles in seven years, will have its first opportunity to inspect the University's expanded quarers in the ten-story building at 525 Sunset Blvd, which has been its home for the past two years.
