Your Motoring Habits Will Get Once Over From State’s Experts
A massive study of the driving habits of Southern California motorists is about to get under way, it was announced by Robert B. Bradford, state director of Public Works.
Bradford said the study will cover the five Southern California counties including Orange County.
The purpose of the survey, he said, is to find out where cars in the area begin their trips and where they are heading, for use in determining future transportation needs.
He did not indicate what methods will be used to determine these facts.
"We are talking in terms of 8 million people and 4 million vehicles and an estimated 15 million people and 8 million vehicles by 1980," Bradford explained.

privations and hardships of the jungle.
A forthright and practical man, Baden-Powell sat down and wrote a pamphlet outlining the basic skills required of the soldier and titled it “Aids to Scouting.”
THE PAMPHLET almost immediately became a national rage and Baden-Powell, urged on by friends, rewrote it in boyish language and the scouting movement was launched.
At the time of Boyce’s appearance on the scene a number of boy movements similar to scouting had sprung up in the U.S., but all eventually disappeared before the magnitude of the success of the Boy Scouts of America organization.
A magnitude that has touched down into every aspect of American life—a force that among other things has made the Scouting Handbook only second to the Bible as the nation's number one best seller.
It has paid dividends in times of peace and war and prosperity.
Scouting in Orange county is almost as old as in the nation. The first troop, No. 1, was founded in Huntington Beach 39 years ago.
Today in the county there are 265 units of cubs, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts.
AT NEWPORT BEACH the county boasts the first science dedicated explorer unit in the U.S.

Clothes Wanted
For Celebration
Scout Executive Bill Bent is looking for old clothes!
No, not just any old clothes but very special kind. He wants some old style Boy Scout uniforms or parts thereof. Remember the old campaign hats? the puttees? he just below the knees knick-knacks?
BENT WANTS to use any old style Boy Scout uniforms in connection with the celebration of the jubilee year of Boy Scouting, and particularly in the observation of Boy Scout Week, Feb. 7 through 13. He would appreciate the loan or gift to the Northern Orange County council, 1006 W. La Palma, of all or any of the old fashioned uniforms—any size.
Early day Cub, den mothers, and Scout leaders uniforms are also desired. So if you haven't done your "good turn" for the day, here is your chance!
HE IS JOINING 30 Bank of America senior branch officers in the first seminar on subtropical agriculture to be sponsored by the bank. The course is made available through cooperation of the University of California.
Fourteen university professors, under the leadership of Chancellor H. T. Spleth and Director A. M. Boyce, will cover all aspects of this key segment in California's agricultural economy.
Participating as guest instructors are four top executives of California citrus and avocado marketing organizations who will present various aspects of marketing, research and pricing.
THAT'S ROUGH!
The average man must pay one dollar of every four he makes to one or another of our governments.

The history of scouting is still being written and what it means to this world is summed up in the simple and concise words of its oath:
"On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout law:
To help other people at all times: To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight."
Support of national state and local governments takes a third of all the nation produces.
