B4-Anaheim Gazette (Anaheim, Friday, January 8, 1960) Obituaries WILLIAM NOACK Funeral services for William Noack, 76, of 12802 Midway Dr., who died in Orange County General Hospital after an extended illness were held from the chapel at Hilgenfeld Mortuary. Burial was in Melrose Abbey Memorial Park. He was a resident of the area for the past 60 years and leaves no known relatives. ANNA M. KUHLMAN Funeral services for Anina M. Kuhlman, 70, of Pasadena, who died this week after a long illness, were held in he chapel of Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars Mortuary and the Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harry Stief officiating. Burial was in Inglewood Cemetery. A native of Missouri, she had lived in Pasadena for 10 years and had spent much of her time in Anaheim, making her home with Mrs. Esther Spies of 829¼ S. Claudina. She was a member of the Eastern Star. There are no survivors. LORA E. RECTOR Funeral services for Lora E. Rector, 71, of 8532 Brookhurst Ave., who died at home after a long illness, were held from the chapel of Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars Mortuary with the Rev. Earl Kernahan officiating. Burial was in Melrose Abbey Mausoleum. A native of Wisconsin, she had been a resident of Anaheim for 13 years and was a member of the First Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Fred J. Rector of Ana-busband, William Henry Bradshaw, one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Shannon of Los Angeles, and three sisters; Mrs. Margaret Hedges of Anaheim, Mrs. Birdeen Berry of Provo, Utah, and Mrs. Eva Stauffer of Meade, Wash. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Anaheim and the associate pastor, Rev. Arthur M. Stevenson, officiated at funeral services in the Hilgenfeld Mortuary chapel Wednesday, Dec. 30. Burial was in Memory Garden Park, La Habra. CLARENCE R. PAYNE Clarence R. Payne, 315 W. Winston Rd., Anaheim, passed away at his home recently after a prolonged illness. He was 61 years of age, born in North Carolina and has been a resident of Anaheim two years. Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Marie F. Payne, four sons, Irwin W. and Clifton A. Payne of Anaheim, Gerald L. in the Army in Texas, and Richard K. of Illinois; three daughters, Marion L. De Witt of Indiana, Shirley M. Radford of Anaheim and Peggy J. Payne of Anaheim; one brother, Clifton A. Payne of North Carolina; nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars, Saturday. Interment was made in Melrose Abbey Cemetery. ALMA R. MARTIN Funeral services for Alma R. Martin, 8142 Tlamon St., Anaheim, were held Monday morning, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars. Mrs. Martin passed away suddenly at her home. She had been a resident of Anaheim and California for seven years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ave., who died at home after a long illness, were held from the chapel of Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars Mortuary with the Rev. Earl Kernahan officiating. Burial was in Melrose Abbey Mausoleum. A native of Wisconsin, she had been a resident of Anaheim for 13 years and was a member of the First Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Fred J. Rector of Anaheim; three sons, Robert of Ohio, and Albert and Paul of Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Lang of Fullerton and Mrs. Mary Noble of Wisconsin, and 15 grandchildren. HERMAN D. HEINEMAN Funeral services for Herman D. Heineman, 80, of 549 S. Illinois St., who died from injuries received in an automobile accident at Broadway and West Sts., were held from the chapel of Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars Mortuary with the Rev. E. W. Matthias officiating. Burial was in Fairhaven Mausoleum. Born in Germany, he had lived in Anaheim 41 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Anaheim Elks Lodge and Herman Sons. Surviving are his wife, Anna B.; two daughters, Frieda Blowers of Berkeley and Edna Ballard of Huntington Park; a son, Walter of Sacramento and four grandchildren. ELIZABETH M. LOTT Mrs. Elizabeth M. Lott, 96, of 11292 Acacia St., Garden Grove, died Saturday, Dec. 26, in her home after a brief illness. A native of Germany, she came with her parents in 1873 to America and settled in Michigan. In 1899 the family moved to California and settled in Hollywood where they remained until 1901 when a new home was established in Garden Grove, where Mrs. Lott lived for 58 year. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clara L. Shumaker of Garden Grove and Mrs. Ruth M. Stokes of Hollywood, 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Garden Grove and the pastor, Rev. Robert R. Washer, ALMA R. MARTIN Funeral services for Alma R. She had been a resident of Anaheim and California for seven years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alma D. Durocher of Anaheim and a son, Ralph Martin of Anaheim, and three grandchildren. BERTHA MALONEY Bertha Maloney of 1665 Bayview, Sunset Beach, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, after a short illness. She was 89 years of age and was born in Michigan. She had been a resident of Orange County 36 years. Mrs. Maloney was a former resident of Stanton where she made her home for 25 years. She was a member of the Community Quaker Church of Stanton. She is survived by a daughter, Edith Evans of Bryte, Calif., four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars last Tuesday. Interment was in Fairhaven Cemetery. ARTHUR SPEARS Arthur Spears of 847 N. Pine St., passed away recently after a short illness. He was 61 years of age. Born in Mena, Ark., Jan. 20, 1898, he had been a resident of Anaheim for the last 22 years. Although he was not a member, he attended the First Southern Baptist Church of Anaheim. He is survived by his wife, Minervia Spears; one son, William R. Dilbeck of Big Bear Lake; a brother, John Spears of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Lydia Reynolds of Independence, Mo.; a grandchild, and three great-grandchildren. He has been working as a warehouseman at the U.S. Industrial Chemical Co. for 23 years. Funeral services were held Monday at the chapel of Backs, Troutman & Kaulbars Mortuary. Interment followed in one of the local cemeteries. they remained until 1901 when a new home was established in Garden Grove, where Mrs. Lott lived for 58 year. CHARLES RAY SHELTON Funeral arrangements for Charles Ray Shelton, 33, of 16424 El Molino St., Fontana, were conducted by the Hilgenfeld Mortuary. Mr. Shelton, a native of Iowa and a resident of California seven years and employed by Langsons TV as repairman, was killed Dec. 24 in an auto accident at Palm and Wilhelmina Sts., Anaheim. He leaves his wife Natalie Shelton and three daughters, Joanne B., Valeria G. and Natalie C. Shelton, all at home, and a son Charles R. Shelton, also at home. Other survivors include his father, James B. Shelton of Huntington Park, one sister and seven brothers. LILA ESTHER BRADSHAW Mrs. Lila Esther Bradshaw, 79, of 8900 Brookhurst Rd., Anaheim, died recently at her home after an extended illness. She was a native of Utah and came to California 20 years ago and has been a resident of Anaheim for the last five years. She is survived by her THEODORE G. PAULSON Theodore G. Paulson, 77, of 848 S. Lemon St., Anaheim, died recently in the Anaheim Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was a native of South Dakota and a resident of Anaheim 13 years. He is survived by his wife, Inez C. Paulson; one daughter, Mrs. Florence E. Littrell of Anaheim; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Braden of Santa Ana; two brothers, Carl Paulson of Washington and Albert Paulson of South Dakota; one grandson, Larry R. Secrist of Anaheim. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Anaheim and of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers of Hurson, S. D. No. 170. Funeral services were conducted in the Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel last Saturday. The Rev. Earl Kernahan, past or of the First M. E. Church, officiated and interment was in Melrose Abbey Memorial Park. MARY A. PURPURA Mary A. Purpura of 437 S. Falson St., Anaheim, passed away at the Santa Maria Convalescent Home, Fullerton, after a prolonged illness. Born in Wisconsin, she was 67 years old and had been President of Anaheim for three mrs. Mrs. Purpura was a memof St. Justin Martyr CathoChurch. She is survived by husband, Phillip J. Purpura of Anaheim; eight sons, Frank A. hony P., and Louis J. Pura of Anaheim, August A., Charlie, Michael C. and James J. Purpura of Chicago; 17 grandchildren. Rosary was said in the chapel of Backs, Troutman & Kaulbars. The remains were shipped to Chicago, Ill., for interment. RAYMOND D. HOOD Funeral services for Raymond D. Hood, 40, of 528 N. Rose St. who died Sunday morning after a brief illness, were held from the chapel of Hilgenfeld Mortuary with the Rev. H. John Vanderbeck officiating. Burial was in Anaheim Cemetery. A native of Texas, he had lived in Anaheim for the past 20 years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Surviving are his wife, MaHood; a daughter, Mariparents, Mr. and Mrs. H Hood of Anaheim; two b Harry A., and William T. heim and a sister, Mrs. J.
