The girls sang “Jesus, Thou Dear Babe Divine” and “Twas the Night Before Christmas” which was sung with the Advanced Girls Glee Club. Both the Triads and the Glee Club have won for their singing. Couples Meet For 17th Annual Party Last Sunday marked the 17th consecutive year that three former Ohio families have been together for a Christmas party. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wierman- of 720 La Reina, Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Pahner of Downey and Mr. and Mrs. Merl Emerick of Downey have been celebrating Christmas together since 1942 when the three families first moved to Euclid, Ohio, and formed fast friendships. Through the years each family moved to California and the cycle was broken just one year when the first couple preceded the other two to the Southland and had to miss the party. But a long distance phone call helped to bridge the miles. “So we were together just the same,” says Mrs. Wierman. The following year the other two couples moved here and the three groups continued to meet on the Sunday before Dec. 25 each year. Fuchsia Group Slates Annual Party Here The annual Christmas party of the Orange County branch of the California National Fuchsia Society will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the American Legion Hall at 936 N. Lemon St. The party will be potluck with meat, coffee, cream and rolls being furnished. Festivities for the evening will include a gift exchange among members and the awarding of a Christmas doll and deluxe plants. Allen Trunstell, newly-elected public relations officer of the California National Fuchsia Society, will install officers for 1960. Seated will be: William L. Taylor of Anaheim, president; George Hansen of Garden Grove, vice president; Mrs. Winifred Hansen, secretary; R.H. Leckie Honeymooning in Mazatlan, Mexico, following their marriage at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Anaheim are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Arthur Leckie of Los Angeles. The bride is the former Maryanne Lucinda Hammatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Young Francis Hammatt, 1548 West Orangewood Ave., Anaheim. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Lorene D. Leckie of Corona del Mar and Arthur Bernard Leckie of Los Angeles. The church was decorated in a red and green Christmas theme with white accents for the impressive evening ceremony, complementing the red sheath dresses of the attendants. The bride entered the church wearing a Cahill design. The gown featured a basque-fitted bodice with sabrina neckline outlined in appliqued chalk. A reception was held in the Magnolia Room at the Disneyland Hotel following the service. Mrs. Lloyd P. Hamilton of Santa Ana circulated the guest book. Later the new Mrs. Leck changed to a two-piece sheath dress of deep green wool with black accessories for the holy eymoon trip to Matzaltan. The bride is a graduate of Anaheim High School and the University of Southern California where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, Pi Lambda Theta and Trojan Junior Auxiliary. Her husband is a graduate of SC Law School where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta and Phi Delta Phi. Upon their return from Mexico the couple will make the home in Baldwin Hills. The bridegroom will be admitted The Glee Club have won considerable acclaim locally for their singing. The two groups are under the direction of Mrs. Leona Carver, vocal director at Orangeview. Members of the Drama and Art Departments also participated in the program. New Year Party Tickets on Sale Tickets are still available for the annual New Year's Eve dance sponsored by the four Catholic parishes of Anaheim to be held at Sunny Hills Recreation Club in Fullerton. St. Anthony Claret Church will act as the host parish this year; with St. Boniface, St. Justin Martyr and St. Philip Benizi participating in the event. Music, dancing and refreshments will be the order of the evening from 9 to 1 a.m., according to Mrs. Vincent Peltzer and Mrs. John Ahern, co-chairmen of the affair. Tickets or information may be obtained from any of the local churches. Ratliff, Wilson Rites Performed Jill Dean Ratliff became the bride of Robert Earnest Wilson recently in a double ring ceremony performed at the First Methodist Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin D. Ratliff, 536 Plymouth Pl. and her husband is the son of Mr. and Chi Pi Meet Features Poetry A cultural program was featured at the regular meeting of the Chi Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority held recently at the home of Mrs. Richard Ralston, 1404 Pat Pl. Mrs. William Hall presided over the meeting and took part in the program, her subject being poetry. Mrs. John Ragan spoke on verse-making. Guests for the evening were Mrs. Theodore Aldrich and Mrs. Phillip Long, both sorority transferees from other chapters.
