New School Site Explained by Wines As Citizens Kick
The Euclid and Cerritos site for the proposed new high school was chosen because of heavy anticipated student load in the district to the south, north and east, according to a statement by R. K. Wines, administrative assistant in charge of new construction for the Anaheim Union High School District.
They claimed that better situated property to the west in the Nutwood area is available.

The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall be paid at the rate of one hour per day on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the September, 1959 revision of the A.G.C. B.D.E. M.WILLIAMS, DENE M. WILLIAMS, C.I.O., Southern California Master Laboratory.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rate of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10) per cent of the amount of the bid, being the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 2:00 o'clock P.M., on the 10th day of December, 1959, at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be submitted inside envelopes and marked in the upper left hand corner. A proposal for furnishing and installing one pumping unit in Well No. 17, Work Order No. 1717," together with the name and address of the bidder. The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded to him. A cleared forfeiture if the successful bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor of notice of the awarding of the contract.
