Religious Art to Be On Display at CC
The Chapman College Art Department will open the Virginia Purcell Gallery for the 1959-1960 school year this Sunday with a loan exhibition, "Five Centuries of Religious Art."
A reception and preview will be held in the Gallery Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and the exhibition will remain on view from 10 to 5 Monday through Friday until November 24.
Highlighting the exhibition will be a group of fifty original etchings, engravings, woodcuts, and lithographs from the George Binet Print Collection, Brimfield, Massachusetts. Fifty different artists are represented, including Durer, Leyden, Rembrandt, Redon, Rouault, and Chagall.
Trident Girls Form Jr. Tri Hi Y Clubs
Some 60 seventh grade girls from Trident Junior High School met with Mrs. Orlo Fast, assistant program secretary for the Tri Hi Y Clubs of the YMCA, for the purpose of forming Jr. Tri Hi Y Clubs in that school.
Parents of the girls attended the meeting and discussed with Mrs. Nan Moore, girls program secretary, the Jr. Tri Hi Y program and its meaning.
Three clubs will be formed at first with more to follow as interest picks up. The first meeting of the individual clubs will be held tonight for the election of officers and selection of club names.

Business, Professional Group Attends Meeting in Costume
Witches and goblins were guests of the Anaheim Business and Professional Women's Club at the last regular meeting at the courtesy rooms of Home Savings and Loan Association when each member came in a Hallowe'en costume. After a short period of guessing the guessing the costumes, the costumes, the president, Signa Hatfield asked the members to unmask. Winner was Florence Bechtle who represented a very old lady, using a cane to vent her anger on any one who might cross her path.
A short business session was held during which time the announcement was made of the regular meeting of the Orange County Council to be held in Newport Beach at the Yacht Club. Short reports on the recent San Orco District Conference held in Riverside was given by several members who were in attendance.
Plans were announced for the annual family Christmas party which will be held at the Elks Club on Dec. 13.
The treasurer reported a sizeable sum in the Auddie Raymond Memorial Cancer Research Fund, recently established in memory of a deceased member.
Rose Wilson, chairman of the Church Women Name Officers
Mrs. Donald Shultz is the new president of the Women of the Church at Faith Lutheran Church.
Elected also at a recent monthly meeting are: Mrs. Fale International Relations Committee, announced that the meeting will be held at YMCA with Mr. and M Jerry Nesmith serving as meal. The program will feature a speaker from the Mary Corps.
The Nov. 4 Executive Board meeting will be held at home of Ruby Terry in Garry Grove.
Youth Sing Set Next Monday
The Alamitos Friends Church in Garden Grove will be meeting place for another popular Youth Sings' tracting young people from Anaheim and other areas.
The sing will be held Nov. under the leadership of Eugene Coffin, with special music by Vickie and Raund Linda Hayden. Devotion will be conducted by Dr. Brandenbring, minister Christian Education at Alamitos Friends Church.
Refreshments will be served also.
No Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m., a cational Guidance Conference will be held under the direction of the Rev. Louis Brouw of Anaheim United Brethth Church at Lemon and So Sta.

Women's Committee Names Chairmen
Chairmen for the year were named at a meeting of the Jr. Tri Hi Women's Committee at the home of Mrs. Paul Cook.
Representing the committee will be Mrs. Cliff Haskel and Mrs. Kiyoshi Shigekawa. Mrs. Houston Kier was named induction chairman, and Mrs. Chester Shirk, mother and daughter dessert.

All-Alumni Art Show to Be Held at FJC Tomorrow Eve.
An All-Alumni art show will be in the spotlight tomorrow evening at Fullerton Junior College as a highlight of dedication activities to be held for two new college buildings.
The art show is to be held in the new exhibit hall in the Art-Home Economics Building and will include such diverse pieces as paintings, tile murals, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, etchings, photographs, commercial art examples, and block prints. All have been done by former FJC students and have been collected for the show by Mrs. Mary Hodgdon, FJC art instructor.
The same evening formal dedication ceremonies for the new Art-Home Economics Building and Technical Education Building will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center. Three speakers will be featured, Dr. Gladys Stevenson, professor of home economics at Whittier College; Ernest G. Kramer, supervisor, Bureau of Industrial Education in the State Department of Education; and Glen Lukena, nationally known ceramicist and former FJC and USC instructor. District administrators and instructors will also take part in ceremonies.
Refreshments and tours of the two new buildings will follow.

The Marine Corps Aviation Cadet program (MARCAD) has a number of openings available in its December class for qualified college students, by Sgt. Sherman T. Wicker, Anaheim recruiter, announces.

Clifford Margerison, Anaheim postoffice, is among 42 postal employes in California receiving an award for suggestions bettering the service. Margerison suggested relocation of mail boxes near school bus stops to eliminate safety hazards.
