A4-Anaheim Gazette Plans Formulated For Anaheim's Halloween Fest Anaheim's 36th annual Hallowe'en Festival, now in the planning stage, will feature a classic beard contest along with the yearly costume promenade, kiddy parade and other entertainment. These plans were discussed last week when Bill Walker, festival chairman, met with committee chairmen at the Chamber of Commerce offices. Parade Marshal Herb Perry will be working with Bill Cook, band committee chairman and Gale Harmon, equestrian chairman, and division parade chairmen to make this year's parade one of the best ever. Howard Loudon, classic beard contest chairman, will promote one of the most unique contests ever held in Anaheim. Plans call for men to grow beards to resemble those worn by musical comment day composers, if they have beards. This contest will be judged at the Saturday morning Hallowe'en breakfast as part of the entertainment. Another interesting participating event will be the costume promenade with Mary Hasketh as chairman. This is for the ladies as well as the men and it can lead to a lot of fun. All costumes will be judged at the breakfast, also. And the orange shirts and unusual costumes will be worn on the streets by business people a week before the parade, it was... All costumes will be judged at the breakfast, also. And the orange shirts and unusual costumes will be worn on the streets by business people a week before the parade, it was decided at the meeting. Bob Shanks says he is planning for a bigger and better kiddie parade this year. This parade is held on Friday afternoon and Shank says he expects about 5000 participants in the colorful event this year. In charge of the program for the stadium, Saturday evening before the parade, is Bud Coulson of Disneyland. Seats at the stadium will sell for $1.00 for general admission for adults. Kids up to 10 will be admitted free. Reserved seats will sell for $2.00 each. The annual Hallowe'en parade, with its pre-parade events, has come to be Anaheim's most widely publicized events and one which brings all Anaheimers together as one big happy family. The kiddies window art contest will be featured again this year. Chairman for this event is yet to be named by chairman Walker. Anaheim city officials pledged their support and cooperation, including police officials for handling with the committee chairmen to make the big event run as smoothly as possible. Ticket sales, contest rules and other information regarding the many events will be announced later, Walker said.
