Weekend Showings
The Bible Institute of Los Angeles' second annual summer "Festival of Films", will continue this weekend with the outstanding gospel film, "In Times Like These," to be shown tomorrow night, and "Witness Before A King" and "As For Me and My House" to be shown Sunday afternoon:
The films will be shown on the BIOLA La Mirada campus in the new auditorium. The fifty-year-old Christian training center recently moved to its new La Mirada campus where approximately 800 students are enrolled for the fall semester. The school is under the direction of Dr. Samuel H. Sutherland, president.
Tomorrow's program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will also feature inspirational singing and special music presented by outstanding recording artists of the Christian Faith Recording Company.
World War I Groups Install Officers
Grace Tillery, president of the Anaheim Auxiliary 1235 of the Veterans of World War I of the U.S.A., was installed as president of the 18th District Veterans
Oriental Program of Slated at Greek Theatre
An evening of Oriental songs and dances will be presented tomorrow night at the Greek Theatre at Anaheim City Park beginning at 7:45 p.m. This is the fourth in a series of "Under the Stars" musicals being presented during the summer. Admission is free.
Featured singer and director of the program is Frieda Kajiya She will sing arias from "Madame Butterfly" and perform in a duet. Miss Kajiya is a resident of Orange County, having come here from Japan as a war bride. She studied at the University of Tokyo and her many accomplishments include singing in seven languages.
Also featured is Yasuko Hoshino of the Tokyo Komaki Ballet Group in Tokyo. Miss Hoshimo is currently visiting the United Rosary Institute 109 Plans Luau Aug. 22
Plans for their Aug. 22 luau were discussed at the meeting of the Our Lady of the Rosary Institute 109 held at the Assistance League clubhouse. Sally White presided.

World War I Groups Install Officers
Grace Tillery, president of the Anaheim Auxiliary 1235 of the Veterans of World War I of the U.S.A., was installed as president of the 18th District Veterans World War I at a recent installation ceremony held at Huntington Beach.
Elections held at the State Convention in San Jose seated Lillie Stevenson of Bakerfield as president and Harriett Arkinson of Downey as senior vice-president.
Robert Norton of Watsonville is the new commander and Rile Eldridge of Santa Ana is senior vice-commander.
The Veterans of World War I and its auxiliary are open for membership and all veterans and their families are welcome to join. Information is available at TR 1-2212 or PR 2-0553.
Rosary Institute 109 Plans Luau Aug. 22
Plans for their Aug. 22 luau were discussed at the meeting of the Our Lady of the Rosary Institute 109 held at the Assistance League clubhouse. Sally White presided.
Chairman for the luau is Lynn Raberding.
A report was given by Girtrude Carter for the board of trustees, and Betty Dalley reported on the recent convention held in Santa Rosa. Bonnie Jollissaint reported on the Well Baby Clinic.
Plans have been announced for a dance to be held Nov. 21 at the Elks Clubhouse.
It was announced that the Bloodbank will be at the Ebell clubhouse Aug. 28. YLI now has nine pints of blood to its credit.
Refreshments were served by Jo Ann Anthony, Audry Allan and Martha Ankerman.

SEEK THEATRE TOMORROW
DATES FOR SIX MONTHS AND IS ACTING AS ASSISTANT INSTRUCTRESS AT PAULINE'S STUDIO OF DANCE IN WESTMINSTER.

Some of the performers will play the koto, a Japanese 13-string instrument and the shakuchi, a Japanese flute made from bamboo.
The program will begin with a song, "Around the East," by Polly Humphreyes and the welcome given by Lois Stroh. Following will be children's songs and dances by the dancers of Frieda's Studio and Pauline's Studio of Dance.

THEATRE GUILD NAMES FOUR NEW PLAYS FOR 1959-60 PRODUCTION
The Anaheim Theatre Guild has selected four plays for production during the 1959-60 season. The four shows range in content from comedy to powerful drama, and have a variety of roles for 28 women and 29 men.
The first show to be presented is the Pulitzer Prize winning comedy-drama "Picnic." This will be followed by the fast moving comedy "Goodbye My Fancy." Next on the Guild theatre slate is "The Big Knife," a powerful drama with a Hollywood background. The final offering of the season is the sparkling fun-filled "Boy Meets Girl."
"Picnic" calls for a cast of 4 men and 7 women. "Goodbye My Fancy" needs 8 men and 12 women. "The Big Knife" has parts for 6 men and 5 women. "Boy Meets Girl" offers roles for 10 men and 5 women.
The Guild's playreading committee is currently screening prospective directors for all of the shows. Anyone interested in any phase of theatre work with the Guild may contact Pat Harlacher at LE 9-0875 for details.
The director and reading dates for the first show will be announced within the next week. The building where the shows will be presented, and the show dates, will be announced within the next month.
Civic clubs and community organizations that once again desire to support the Guild, while receiving a cash refund, are requested to contact Pat Harlacher at LE 9-0875 for details on the new "Group Ticket Plans."
OC PHILHARMONIC 'FAMILY NIGHT'
"Family Night" at Irvine scheduled for Saturday, A by the Orange County Philharmonic Society, will feature Mendez noted trumpet solos.
The concert, with Frieda fante conducting, is free to public but the Philharmonic society has arranged for a reservation to be obtained a service fee of $1.50 for each person and $1.00 for other seat lots. Hundreds of unreserved seats are available without charge which no entrance ticket is necessary.
Mrs. Marion Sims Cox box chairman, advises that groups are planning to "box lunch" party in their boxes prior to the concert.

Classmates of the 1934 Anaheim High School graduating class gathered at Disneyland Hotel Saturday evening; did some miniscoping and filled each other an what they've been doing in the 25 years since they went to school together.

The colorful program will be climaxed with a dance by the Japanese Orange County Buddhist Chuch Group and a finale by the entire cast.
Buffet tables decorated in the school colors, blue and gold, and large welcome signs greeted the 111 guests, 77 of whom were classmates.
Chairmen of the affair were Helen Clay Osborne and Wesley Osborne, and co-chairmen were Lenora Jensen Wentz and Louis Wentz. Wentz served as master of ceremonies.
The evening was highlighted by the presentation of gifts to some of the guests. The Rev. Leroy Mills from New Mexico received a gift for traveling the greatest distance to attend the reunion.
Ruth Wheaton Leibl received a gift for having the most children, Betty Rosebrook Hughs for the oldest son.
Other gift recipients were Harold Judd for the most unusual occupation, and Gladys Roquet Culler for the most unusual woman's occupation.
Letters were read from those unable to attend. Louis Wentz introduced the Rev. Mills who conducted the closing ceremonies.
The classmates agreed unanimously that another reunion should be held in five years.
Temple Beth Emet Groups Schedule Aqua Show, Social
An aqua show, featuring an exhibition of diving by professionals Jim Griffes, Ray Reyes and Curt Vaught, will be held at the Dr. Sammy Lee Swimming and Diving School Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
The show is sponsored by the Sisterhood and Men's Club of Temple Bethm Emet and is the highlight of an evening of dancing and games. The men and women of the Temple have gone all out in preparing a buffet supper and cocktails to be served during the evening.
The affair is informal with swim suits the attire for the evening. Ping pong and shuffleboard will be made available to the guests.

Roy Waites To Be Open House Honorees
An open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Roy Waite of 209 N. Helene St., on their silver wedding anniversary will be held by relatives and friends Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the IOOF Hall in Anaheim.

VFW Auxiliary Cited For Volunteer Work
Members of the Ladies Auxiliary 3173 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars were cited for their work at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital at the last meeting of the group with Elizabeth Aldrich presiding.
Receiving pins and certificates for longest hours donated were Ivy Ryan, 1000 hours; Molly Claes, 500; Ida Trendel and Adeline Schroeder, 300 hours. Members have volunteered their time pushing wheel chairs, holding Bingo parties and assisting with teas.
The Anaheim Auxiliary also received a citation in recognition of their outstanding work in the National Home Foundation Fund program.
Florence Carroll substituted for Opal Walters who is vacationing. Mrs. Carroll was delegate at the District meeting at Huntington Beach last Sunday.
Refreshments were served by Molly Claes and Adeline Schroeder. The next meeting will be held Aug. 10.
AUXILIARY POT LUCK
The Auxiliary to Anaheim Barracks 1235 Veterans of World War I will hold a pot luck dinner and business meeting, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., at the Anaheim American Legion Hall.

The concert, with Frieda Belinante conducting, is free to the public but the Philharmonic Society has arranged for advance reservations to be obtained for service fee of $1.50 for boxes and $1.00 for other seat locations. Hundreds of unreserved seats also are available without charge for which no entrance ticket is necessary.

Newcomers Club Has Evening of Bridge
An evening of bridge playing was enjoyed by the City Hostess Newcomers Bridge Group in the Lemon Heights home of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Seeley Saturday. A dessert was served prior to the games.
Margaret Peterson city hostess, announced the Catalina Island trip planned for the Newcomers and also the plans to attend the Festival of Arts in Laguna in August.
Dr. Bennett Marcus won high score for the men in the bridge games, and Mrs. Albert Malis won high score for the ladies. Table prizes were won by Mrs. Lawrence Doving, Mrs. Bennett Marcus, Mrs. Fred Evens, Ed Seeley, Albert Malis and Floyd Peterson.
The next meeting of the Couples Bridge Group will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Malis in Anaheim Aug. 8.
Tickets for OCC 'Guys and Dolls' Still Available
Tickets to the Orange Coast College production of the Broadway hit "Guys and Dolls" are still available for the three performances, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. (July 30, 31, Aug. 1).
All seats are reserved and all tickets are $1. The auditorium box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. The box office will also be open at 7 p.m. each night of the performance.
