PRETTY 'FAIR' ENTERTAINMENT—Fun for the entire family is packed into the entertainment schedule for the 1959 Orange County Fair which opens Tuesday in Costa Mesa. Mae Edwards (left.) is featured in Icelandia, an ice show on real Alton Wood and Bob Baker, shown with the "little people" are the moving force behind the Bob Baker Marionettes which will share the stage with The Lynons, a batic novelty act shown at right, and with other vaudeville routines. The lady emerging in a cloud of smoke from the cannon's mouth is one of the two Zacchini sisters featured in the human cannonball act. Amateur show, a beauty contest, and a roast also are slated during the fair's six-day run July 14-19. TB MOBILE CHEST R-RAY UNIT TO BE AT THE ORANGE COUNTY FAIR FROM TUESDAY, JULY 14 THROUGH SUNDAY, JULY 19, according to Dr. Kenneth M. Smith, chairman of the Case Finding Committee for the Orange County Tuberculosis Health Association. MAKING MONEY—Auctioneer Charles Adams, caught by the camera above in a working pose, probably will "knock down" more than $85,000 in sales of junior livestock blue ribbon animals at the auction set for July 17 as part of the 1959 Orange County Fair. He has been autoneer for the Lake City inter-mountain stock show for more than 20 years, the Great Western Live-ock Show in Los Angeles for the 15 years, the Grand National San Francisco for more than years, and for some 14 years auctioneered the Red Bluff Sale, one of the top Here-als sales in California. High Averages Adams credits his wide respect for the high averages he manages get for every sale to his fore-ers. He comes from a whole family of autoneers, the first of whom was an uncle, Tom Palmer, the 19th century in England. Amer is credited with being one of the originators of selling stock at auction. Adam's father, William H., Adams of Salt Lake City, Utah, his brother, William, both stock moving briskly in thearmmount Area. Adam's son, ity, has followed his father's steps, keeping up the family edition. Charles Adams began his career in 1925 when he was graduated on a Kansas City auctioneering pool at the age of 15.
