Anaheim Tightens Grip on Orange County Legion Title By STEVE HUDSON Anaheim tightened its grip on first place in Orange County American Legion play Saturday by knocking off Huntington Beach 9-0. Anaheim chucker Jerry Stephenson hurled a masterful three hitter while fanning 11 to pick up the victory. Ron Yett and Frank Peters led the attack for Anaheim as Yett went 3 for 5 with a single, double and triple while Peters went 4 for 5 with 3 rbi's. The closest thing to a run for Huntington Beach came in the fourth inning when Beach's Kim determined by the points system, that is one point for every man who shows up on a losing team and two points are awarded for every player on a winning team. Berly Stewart belted a Stephenson serving into deep right-center field for what appeared to be a two-run homer. Center fielder Ricki Scheffler made a great running catch and fell into the seats still clutching the horsehide. On Saturday and Sunday West Anaheim and Anaheim battle in a crucial two game series at La-Palma Park.
