RESOLUTION NO. 5274
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNcil of the CITY OF Anaheim INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRitory TO THE CITY OF Anaheim, ON ITS OWN MOTION; DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE ORANGE COUNTY WATER DISTRICT ANNEXATION ON DESCRIBING THE HONDAIRIE OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY MUST BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF Anaheim.
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has investigated certain uninhabited territory as hereinafter set forth and does find that such territory is so situated as to require facilities of the City of Anaheim to pass through such territory, and finds that such territory can be easily served with the facilities of the City of Anaheim and does fur-
the same is hereby fixed as the day hour and place when and where the City Council will hear protests made by any owner or owners of real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, and that the hour set for hearing objects, any owner of property wifh in said territory may file with the City Clerk a written protest against the annexation. Said protest shall be in writing and shall state the name of the owner of the property affected and the description and area of the property in question.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City Anaheim be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: the Anaheim Gazette of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a publication given immediately upon publication of the article.
AND that such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing on the proposed annexation.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City Anaheim be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the proceeding were initiated (the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk) and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable with said Clerk; and in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City Anaheim be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notice shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FORGOING RESOLUTION is approved and agreed by me this 2d day of June 1959.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing shall be held upon the date more than sixty (60) days after the passage of this Resolution, unless the owner or owners of all of the territory to be annexed file their consent to such annexation, in writing, with the City Council, in which event the hearing shall be set at any time after compliance with Section 32511 of the Government Code.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does find that the owner or owners of all of the territory proposed to be annexed have filed their consent to such annexation, in writing, with the City Council.

of Voters and as appears from the certificate of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim presented to the City Council at the time of consideration of said petition and prior to the adoption of this resolution; and does further find that more than seventy (12) qualified electors resid within the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed at the time of the filing of said petition for said annexation; and does further find evidence and reports received and from said petition, than at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition, that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any other city or municipal corporation, and that said territory was at the time of filling said petition inhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, The City Council does further find that it would be to the advantage and for the best interests of the City of Anaheim, and the residents thereof, and the qualified electors resid within the territory proposed to be annexed, as hereinafter more particularly described, to submit the question of the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim to the electors resid within said territory; and that appropriate designation for such territory is KATELLA PARK ANNEXATION; and
WHEREAS, The City Council does further find that said territory should be designated by some appropriate name by which it may be referred upon the ballots used at the election which the question of annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim shall be submitted to the electors resid within said territory and that an appropriate designation for such territory is KATELLA PARK ANNEXATION; and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed and sought to be annexed in the City of Anaheim as follows, to-wit: Said territory is situated in the County of Orange State of California, and the specific boundaries thereof are as follows:
KATELLA PARK ANNEXATION
A parcel of land being a portion of Sections 19 and 30 of Township 4 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.& M., beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits line as established by the Midwood Manger Annexation to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No. 1164 on August 13, 1957, and filed with the Secretary, September 1957, said point being 40 feet south of the east line and 30 feet south of the north line of said Section 30, said point also being in the Garden Grove City limits line; thence.

Course Offered
Almost half of the 44 courses being offered in the Chapman College summer school this year will be offered in the evening; director Paul H. Demaree has announced.
Registration will be held today and Friday until 5 p.m. for day classes and until 9 p.m. for evening classes.
Centralia School Children Appear On Television Show
Art Linkletter's "House party" held special significance for Centralia School district recently. Two boys and two girls, ages 6 and 7 from the Glen H. Dysinger, Sr., school, were guests on the TV and radio show in the "school-house" portion of the program.
The four youngsters were Jeff Powell and Roberta Chase, first graders; and Kathryn Coughlin and David Chamberlin, second graders. The quartet arrived at CBS in Hollywood prior to the broadcast for an interview by the studio's "Teacher", then met Linkletter for a brief warm-up and get acquainted period just before the coast to coast broadcast. The youngsters were guests of Linkletter at lunch afterwards.
Seated in a special section of the studio during the televised presentation were parents of the children, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Coughlin, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Chamberlain and Mrs. Robert B. Chase.
Also present from Centralia School district and sitting with them were Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Streton, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Hall, Mrs. E. R. Adlof and her mother, Mrs. Ida Herrmann, Miss Beth Kroesen and Mrs. Walter Riesterer.

Anaheim Youth Wins Award From County Nurseries
First recipient of the $50 Orange County Nurserymen's Award to an ornamental horticultural graduate at Orange Coast College is Jack Britton, 1009 Citron St., Anaheim.
Britton will graduate from OCC this motth and plans to attend Cal Poly Kellogg in OCC this month and pins to pus, San Dimas, to continue his education.
The scholarship is given by the Orange County Chapter of the California Association of Nurserymen. It was arranged by Don Speck, 309 E. Delhi Road, Santa Ana, and David Focht, 13381 Yockey St., Garden Grove, representatives of the association, and will be an annual presentation.
Britton will attend the July meeting of the Orange County chapter as a guest of the association.
