Anaheim Gazette May 7 and 14, 1908) LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MAINTENANCE, EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, OR RANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY Clerk OF THE CITY AHAHEIM OF THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT OR WORK: THE ROMNEY A DRIVE STREET IMPROVEMENT, FROM 550 FEET EAST OF EUCLID AVENUE TO EUCLID AVENUE, JOB NO. 229. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 clock.Main on the day of May 1958 and will be opened on said date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following: All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and facilities including water and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans, and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk or City Engineer of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to will: The Romney Drive Street Improvement, from 650 feet east of Euclid Avenue to Euclid Avenue, consisting of excavation, construction of 4-inch plant/mix surfaceing, including paint binder and weed killer, adjusting existing manhole to grade, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plans, Job No. 229, and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at regular or adduced regular meeting; for action thereon by said City Council. PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute this contract. The hourly wage scale so ascertained is as follows: Hourly and address of the bidder. The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded to him, and will be declared forefitted if the successful bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor or notice of the awarding of the contract unless such time is extended by the City of Anaheim. Each bid must specify the name and location of the mill, shop or office of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or render services to the contractor in or about the construction of the work or imposition and material cost and amount of the work which will be done by subcontractor. If any bid submitted fails to specify a subcontractor as aforesaid, the contractor submitting such bid agrees to perform the work himself. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to the cost of the price and a labor and material cost equal to 100% of the contract amount if bonds to be secured from a surety or bonding company satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance. Plans and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the city clerk of the City of Anaheim at the City Hall, California for the sum of five (5.00) dollars. If picked up at said offices, or the sum of six (6.00) dollars if forwarded by mail. The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract and to furnish the City with public liability insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00 for injuries including accidental death of any one person, $200,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00 for injuries or any one person or any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00 for injuries or any one person or any one accident. Compensation and employer's liability insurance shall be maintained during the life of the contract covering all employees on the project; the contractor shall be remunerable that all expenses are protected by such insurance. Such insurance shall be furnished by companies satisfactory to the City and subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency. The successful bidder and any subcontractor and contractors employed by the firm for construction work or any part of the work of public improvement will be required to use only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in the United States and only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been mined or produced in the United States, and only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in the United States. The successful bidder and any subcontractor and contractors employed by him to do any part of the work on the above described public improvement shall be required to prefer supplies grown, manufactured or produced in the State of California and next to prefer supplies partially grown, manufactured or produced in the State of California. Each bid shall be accompanied by a No-collusion affidavit, copies of may be obtained from the City Clerk. If any of the above days fall within the labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor him or pay not less than the amount of wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cash-bond for the (10%) amount of the amount of the bid. The successful bidder and any subcontractors employed by him in the project must comply with the laws of work or any part of the work sold public improvement will be required to use only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been mined or produced in the United States, and only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been mined or produced in the United Statesatisfactory from all foreign articles, materials and supplies mined, produced or manufactured, as case may be, in the United States pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4300 to 4305, both inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California.
