Your generosity could be expensive. Have you seen your friend's boots? If he drives your car without one, you may be subject to a heavy fine, or even revocation of your license. Is he a fickle driver? If he has an accident, you can be liable for damages or injuries. How's the mechanical condition of your car? An accident due to bad brakes, for instance, could be laid on your shoulders. Are you fully insured for personal injury and collision damage? You could be paying for the insufficient coverage for a long, long time. Does your friend have insurance covering "other car" driving? If not, you'd better be certain he can assume financial responsibility to the public. Suppose your "friend" steals the car after you've loaned it to him!
