Alfred A. Lopez, 36, of 1158 N. Parry Street, and a native of Anaheim, died as a result of an automobile accident. He is survived by his wife, Ophelia, and a son, Rudy, and a daughter, Virginia, of the home. Rosary was said in the chapel of Backs, Troutman and Kaulbars and Mass was celebrated at St. Bonnet face Catholic church. Interment was in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.

NOTICE INVITING REALED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING A.L.P. PLANT, L.A.BO BERNICK, M.J. TERRISE AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM (UP WHERE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT OR WORK: AN 4-POOT CHAIN LINE FENCE AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE CITY TARD AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF CRESCENT AVENUE AND BROOKHURST STREET BEHIND FIRE STATION NO. 2, JOB NO.161-A.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock on May 14th of 1959, and will be accepted on said date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to-wit: The construction, installation and completion of an 8-foot chain link fence without topail around the perimeter of the City Yard at the northeast corner of Crescent Avenue and Brookhurst Street, behind Fire Station No. 1, in the City of Anaheim, approximately 1,668.48 linear feet, including three 20-foot gates, posts, post setting, braces, post ties, fittings, and all appurtenant work as indicated on the plans and a 0.11c a 110a, Job No. 464 and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at its next regular or adjourned regular meeting, for action thereon by said City Council.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute this contract. The following hourly wage scale so ascertained is as follows:
Work is required in excess of eleven hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 8:00 o'clock P.M. and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid at the minimum rate of one and half times the basic rate of wages and on Sunday and holidays such work shall be paid for all the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision to the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L., - C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day Decoration Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; any of the above mentioned holiday other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday; the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rates of wages to the laborers, workmen and mechanized employed by them in the execution of their contract.
Each bid shall be made out on form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bld bond for ten (10) feet high.

Tenants may be employed in unity with Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code.

I.JOB NO. 454-A," together with the name and address of the bidder. The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract awarded to him and will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor of notice of the awarding of the contract, unless such time is extended by the City of Anaheim.
Each bid must accurately describe the name and location of the mill, shop or office of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or render services to the contractor in or about the construction of the work or improvement and the portion of the work which will be done by each subcontractor. If any bid submitted fails to specify a subcontractor as aforeseen, the contractor submitting such agrees to perform the work himself.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a labor and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from a surety or bonding company satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance.
Pana and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at the City Hall, Anaheim, California for the sum of Five ($5.00) Dollars, if picked up at said offices, or the sum of Six ($6.00) Dollars if forwarded by mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract and to furnish the City with public liability insurance in an amount not less than $100,000.00 including accidental death of any one person, $300,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00 and public liability insurance to cover vehicles used by him whether on or off the premises in an amount of $50,000.00 for injuries to any one person or $100,000.00 for any accident, and property damage in an amount of $100,000.00 including employer's liability insurance shall be maintained during the life of the contract covering all employees on the project. The contractor approval of the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
The successful bidder and any subcontractor and commissioner should give him in the performance of said work or any part of the work of said public improvement will be required to use only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in the United States substantially all from articles materials and supplies made, produced or manufactured, as the case may be, in the United States pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4300 to 4305, both inclusive, of the Government Code of State of California.
Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4320 and 4331 of the Government Code of State of California,
being price, fitness criteria equal to the successful bidder and any subcontractors or contractors employed by him to do any part of the work on the above described public improvement shall be required to prefer supplies grown, manufactured or produced in the State of California and next to prefer supplies partially grown, manufactured or produced in the State of California.
Each bid shall be approved by a Non-collision Affidavit, copies of which may be obtained from the City Clerk.
The successful bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids written by law, reserves the further right to make an award to the lowest responsible bidder found and determined to serve best interests of the City of Anaheim.
