The hour-long program will be seen over NBC-TV on next Monday January 12 at 8:30 p.m. Belafonte will present a cross-section of the songs that have made him famous, while Miss Tebaldi will sing excerpts from "Madame Butterfly." Maurice Evans also will be seen. CRANBERRY SALAD 1 8-oz. pkg. (2 cups) fresh or frozen cranberries 2 cups sugar 2 medium-sized oranges 2 cups boiling water 2 pkgs. lemon-flavored gelatin 2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped 1 cup walnuts, chopped Grind cranberries, add sugar and allow to stand, stirring occasionally, while preparing rest of ingredients. Grate rind from oranges, then squeeze out juice. Add boiling water to gelatin and stir until dissolved. Strain cranberry mixture; remove as much liquid as possible. Combine drained liquid with orange juice; if necessary, add water to make 2 cups. Stir into dissolved gelatin. Chill until the consistency of unbeaten egg white. Stir in drained cranberries, orange rind, apples and walnuts. Pour into a 12½ x 8½ x 1¼-inch oblong dish. Chill until firm. Cut in squares and arrange on lettuce. Serve with mayonnaise, if desired. Serves 16.
