Myrt Westering, of Red Wagon Inn, presented the chamber with a three-color brochure listing motels and restaurants plus points of interest in southern California, and, of course, mentioning Disneyland. In 1958 there were 53 conventions in Anaheim with over 18,000 delegates. The report states, "We have 2,000 rooms in Anaheim—these are all new and modern motels and make us literally the motel center of southern California. Your Chamber has been working with three separate groups for construction of a convention auditorium and exhibit hall and we have every reason to believe that construction will start on a convention facility before the middle of 1959.
Hallowe'en Festivities
Dick Gay enjoyed being chairman of the Hallowe'en committee so much he may ask to be re-appointed in 1959. It was a most successful affair with more than 6,000 youngsters participating in the parade. It was truly a community event.
It will be seen from the above items that Strachan's report was full of optimism and that Anaheim businessmen and residents may look for additional growth and development in Anaheim in the next few years.

STRENGTHEN AMERICA'S PEACE POWER
What is Peace Power?
Peace Power is the strength to keep the peace, of course. But that's not all.
Peace Power is also the scientist, patiently probing in the laboratory... and the kid starting his first awkward experiment at high school.
It's the lean young man in uniform ... the men in coveralls at the factory ... and the lone farmer, carving a furrow under open sky.
It's the professor away "out in space."
What is Peace Power?
Peace Power is the strength to keep the peace, of course. But that's not all.
Peace Power is also the scientist, patiently probing in the laboratory... and the kid starting his first awkward experiment at high school.
It's the lean young man in uniform... the men in coveralls at the factory... and the lone farmer, carving a furrow under open sky.
It's the professor, away "out in space" on the blackboard... and his intent students.
It's the hopeful diplomats at a conference table... men who must be able to talk strong and back it up... but whose real job is peace.
And you, too, are Peace Power. Because, wanting peace, you back your wanting with money. Peace costs money. Money for many different things: To help us keep the peace, through industrial and military strength. To help make it lasting for the future, through science and education. And, most important, it takes money saved by individuals. Your Savings Bonds, as a direct investment in your country, make you a partner in the job of strengthening America's Peace Power.
Are you buying all you might!
