NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF END CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OR THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC PROVEMENT OR WORK: CONSTRUCTION OF STORM DRAINS AT THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH AND LEMON STREETS, ON THE NORTH BIDE OF SOUTH STREET, AND AT THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH AND PALM STREETS, JOB NO. 448.
NOICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 9th day of October, 1908, and will be opened on said date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for finalizing the following:
All plant, labor services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation in including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner strict accordance with the specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer on City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement to-wit: The construction of a storm drain at the intersection of South and Lemon Streets, on the north side of South Street, including paving, repairing curb and aldewalk, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plans; also the construction of a storm drain at the intersection of South and Palm Streets, including excavation, construction of concrete pipe, backfill and resurfacing, construction of catch basins, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plans. Job No. 448; and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof re-ported to the City Council for regular or adjourned meetings for action thereon.

Health and Welfare payments shall be made in accordance with the Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid as provided in the May, 1956 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.-C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Apprentices may be employed in conformity with section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code.
The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work. It being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch period at the minimum rate of one day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1956 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.-C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to award the contract is awarded and up to a subcontractor under him to pay not less than half of all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bid shall be made out on a form obtained at the office of the City Clerk. The City Engineer of the City of Anaheim shall be accompanied by a certified cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 9th day of October, 1958, at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. City Engineer. Sealed proposals should be submitted in sealed envelope marked in the upper left hand corner of STORM DRAINS AND INSERTION OF SOUTHERN LEMON AND GREEN AND INTERSECTION OF SOUTHERN PALM STREETS. JOB NO. 10345.
Equipment must specify the location and location of subcontractors perform work or labor or services to the contractor in order to construct the work provision and the portion of the contract after entering requested by the City of Anaheim. Subcontractors must specify if any bid satisfies to specify an contract for notice of the contract unless such bid agrees to perform their himself.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful价金 bond in the amount specified by the contract price; labor and/or materials bond in an equal to 190%; and bonds to be secured from city or bonding company satisfied by the City Council of the City Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to sufficiency before acceptance.
Plans and specifications must obtained from the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a contract to furnish the City public liability insurance in amount not less than $100,000. Injuries including accidental damage from damage caused out of the performance contract and to furnish the City public liability insurance in amount not less than $100,000. For any one accident $100,000.00 for any one accident property damage in an amount $100,000.00 for any one accident liability insurance shown during the life of contract covering all employees on the project. The contractor should responsible that all employees subcontractors are protected by insurance. Such insurance shall furnished by companies satisfied to the City and subject to the provail of the City Attorney form and sufficiency.

The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informality to the extent permitted by law, and reserves the further right to make an award to the lowest responsible bidder found and determined to serve the best interests of the City of Anaheim.
