NOTICE OF TRUSTEE'S SALE
On September 17, 1956, at 10 o'clock A.M., at the South Front entrance of the County Court House, in the City of Santa Ana, California, West Coast Escrow Company, a corporation, as Trustee under the deed of trust made by Erna Anderson, a married woman, and recorded July 24, 1956 in Book 2775, Page 499 of Official Records of Orange County, California, given to secure an indebtedness in favor of Kenneth Jackson Vanderford and Marguerite Vanderford, husband and wife, now owned and held by Title Insurance and Trust Company, a corporation by reason of the breach of certain obligations secured thereby, notice of which was recorded May 16, 1956, in Book 3513, Page 196, of said Official Records, will sell all public auction to the highest bidder for cash, payable in lawful money of the United States at the time of sale without warranty as to title, possession or encumbrances, the interest conveyed to and held by said Trustee under said deed of trust in and to the following described property, to-wit:

Recorder Howard held a seance with a number of violators of city ordinances on Monday morning. Santos Carrisoso, who was up on a charge of fighting was fined $5. Juan Morales, for resisting an officer was fined a similar amount. Both sums were paid. Two other intoxicated individuals were assessed $5 each

Hon. Chas. Donlon, state deputy of the Knights of Columbus, was on Sunday the guest of Father Dubble. The object of his visit was to look over the field in Orange County in order to establish a council of the order in this city. Next Sunday the preliminary steps will be taken at the Catholic church. The state deputy will be present and also Mr. Joseph Scott, P. G. K. and Mr. Dillon, T. D. K. Last year the K of C held their national convention in Los Angeles. The order has a membership of 180,-000 in the United States.
Lt. Selinger and Corp. Speilman of Co. E are at Woodland this week participating in the state shoot for the selection of a team to compete at the national shoot at Seagirt, N. J.
W. A. Frantz has purchased from L. Nemetz the corner lot 60x125 on Center and Olive streets where he will build a residence.
Ralph Jones came in from Garden Grove on Monday to play so much better looking. The lawyers don't like us because we are peaceable and law abiding. The newspapers don't like us because the Gazette gets the county advertising and gets as much as 18 cents a month therefrom. The policemen don't like us because when we get drunk it takes the entire police force to put us in jail. The real estate agents, who comprise nine tenths of the population, don't like us because everybody here is contented and don't want to sell their property. Daniel in the lion's den was a spectable not more to be pitied than a lone and unfortunate Anaheimer in Los Angeles.
An excursion train will run to Santa Monica and return the same day, Sunday next, from Santa Ana, Anaheim and way stations. Fare from Anaheim will be $2.50 for the round trip. The inducement of seven hours at the seaside will be sufficient to fill several cars with excursionists.
Mr. George Schirm, the Santa Ana baker, gives notice that he will deliver fresh bread in Anaheim three times a week.
There will be a pigeon shooting match tomorrow at Anaheim
Landing. The match will positively take place.
Mr. Wm. Roach arrived from San Francisco last week and will remain here permanently to look after his property.
Local P-TA Members Named to Planning Group 4th District
Mrs. Ivan Mahaffee, Anaheim P-TA council president, and Mrs. Carl Hatfield of the Anaheim group, have been named to serve with Mrs. William Clegg, director of organization, and Mrs. Donald Frazier, director of extension, to head plans for the season's first meeting of the Fourth District, California Congress of Parents and Teachers, to be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Anaheim Elks Club.
Registration is set to begin at 9 a.m., with the business meeting at 9:30 a.m. and conferences for all departments at 10:45 a.m.
The Rev. Roland Anderson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of this city, will give the invocation, and the membership will be welcomed by Paul Demaree, superintendent of the local high school district. The Mozart Choir of Anaheim Union High School will provide them under the direction of S.rud.

It is for the purpose of constructing and operating a telephone line connecting and giving service to the towns of Anaheim, Fullerton, Claire, Benedict, Miraflores, Placentia, Olinda, La Habra Valley, Orangethorpe, Brookhurst, Yorba and portions of Buena Park, Los Alamitos and Olive.
J. B. Rae this week sold the forty-acre M. M. Poole walnut branch west of town to Mr. Cole, a late arrival from the east. Consideration was $12,000. Mr. Cole will build a home upon the property.

Mrs. Emma S. Betts, Anaheim 70 Years, Claimed by Death
Mrs. Emma S. Betts, 84 years of age, passed away last Monday, Aug. 20, at her home at 220 No. Olive Street. A native of Austria, she had resided in Anaheim for 70 years and was the former Emma Sellinger, one of the early residents of this vicinity.
Surviving are her husband, Fred H. Betts of the home, and four sisters, Mrs. Hilda Chandler of Anaheim, Mrs. Ida Spalding of Hollywood, Mrs. Bertha Schulte and Mrs. Lena Atherton, both of Fullerton.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars Mortuary yesterday, Wednesday, with the Rev. A. J. Casebeer, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Interment was in Loma Vista Memorial Park near Brea.
The Independent Order of Foresters is holding a wild west potluck picnic in Irvine Park on Saturday, Aug. 25. Games start at 4 p.m. with chowtime set for 6 p.m. Watch guideposts for location. Death Friday Claims Paul Craig, Anaheim
Paul Craig, 50 years of age, a resident of Anaheim for two months, residing at 1417 Chateau Ave., died Friday morning after a brief illness. He was born in Missouri.
He leaves his wife, Bernice, and one son, William H. Craig of Anaheim; mother, Mrs. Laura Craig of Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. N. D. Hubbard of Arkansas and Mrs. Beulah Richardson of Turlock; one brother, Guy Craig of Bakersfield and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from Hilgenfeld chapel Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. G. E. Bridges officiated.
