That your life, liberty or property cannot be taken from you "without due process of law." You can have a fair trial, man, with all the trimmings—the right to a lawyer of your own choice, the right to an impartial judge and jury, the right to face and cross-examine your accusers, and the right to be protected by the rules of evidence—all this, and more. 5. That you shall not "be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against" yourself. Yes, you guessed it: The Fifth Amendment. Our forefathers knew what was what when it came to tyranny.
