Senator Kuchel Gets Important New Appointment
California's U.S. Senator Thomas H. Kuchel has been promoted to chairmanship of the important Senate Subcommittee on Territories and Insular Affairs in a general reorganization of the parent committee on Interior and Insular Affairs.

The Territories Subcommittee handles legislation and appointment to positions affecting Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands, and the mandates Pacific areas being administered by this country for the United Nations.

Auto Club Releases New So-Cal Map
A new map covering almost all of the 13 counties of Southern California is now available to Auto Club members and out-of-state visitors, the Touring Bureau of the Automobile Club of Southern California announced today.
Listed as "Portion of Southern California," the new map covers an area from Visalia and vicinity south to the Mexican border and includes the southern area of Nevada and the northwest portion of Arizona.
"It took about two years of work by 11 men to make this five-color map," said a Club spokesman.
ANGLERS NEED PERMIT IN ARIZONA-NEVADA WATERS
That special use permit to fish the Colorado river between California and Arizona won't help anglers who intend to explore waters between Arizona and Nevada, the Outing Bureau of the Automobile Club of Southern California announced today.
Sportsmen will have to get an additional license and special stamp for fishing in waters between Arizona and Nevada, the Club said.
"There was a possibility that the recent Arizona-California agreement might give California anglers privileges between Arizona and Nevada" an Outing Bureau authority explained.
"But the Arizona Game and Fish Commission says a license from either Arizona or Nevada and a special stamp are required for any fishing in waters between the two states," said the spokesman.
