BRIDE-TO-BE HONORED AT PRE-NUPTIAL SHOWER Miss Dorothy Harlow, who will become the bride of Wilbur Herman on June 19, was honored recently at a pre-nuptial shower at the home of Mrs. Charles Ahlstrom, 524 S. Indiana St. The 20 guests present were all members of White Temple Methodist church with the exception of Lois Carle of San Diego. The evening was spent playing games with prizes to Celia Bonney, Martha Hamilton and the honor guest. BIRTHDAY LAWN PARTY David Heild, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Heald, celebrated his seventh birthday on Friday with a lawn party at his home at 11341 Katella Ave. Outdoor games and swimming in the family pool were enjoyed by 36 friends and members of the first grade class which he attends. Ice cream and birthday cake were enjoyed. A merry-go-round-mobile was unveiled by a special clown imported for the occasion from Long Beach. DOWNEY RECEIVES FLUOR APPOINTMENT W. P. Downey, 11291 Ninth St., Rt. 5, Anaheim, has been appointed vice-president in charge of the newly-formed construction division of the Fluor Corp. Ltd. He will combine his duties as head of the domestic construction division with those pertaining to the foreign construction field. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SCHOOL CEREMONIES For the first time in recent years, graduation exercises will be held for Benjamin Franklin's sixth graders who will be going on to junior high school in the fall. According to Wilbert Bonney, principal, afternoon ceremonies are being planned for June. ANAHEIM GAZETTE Anaheim, Calif., Thurs., June 3, 1954 Lutheran Church Fellowship Banquet Myrell Royer was toastmaster at the Fellowship banquet climaxing a drive for new members by the Fellowship club of Zion Lutheran church. The women of the losing team prepared the meal while their husbands acted as waiters. Following the dinner hour, Charles McGinnis, winning team captain, as MC, introduced the program planned by his team members. Pupils of a local dance studio entertained with several tap dances and a magic skit was presented by A. H. Koch, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Dave Dick and Jacob Mumm. A community sing concluded the program. KATELLA SCHOOL SETS GRADUATION JUNE 16 According to Martin Morocco, Katella school principal, school will close on Wednesday, June 16, and graduation will be held that evening. The eighth grade class will take their annual "ditch day" on June 11 and will enjoy a day's outing on Catalina Island. NDGW MEET TONIGHT (THURSDAY SHOPPER) Native Daughters of the Golden West, Grace Parlor, are holding a birthday meeting on Thursday evening, June 3, at 8 o'clock. Any native born California woman interested in joining the organization is invited to attend. The meeting will be held at the American Legion hall. NEW TEACHERS NAMED When the Anaheim High school trustees met last week, they named the following new teachers to positions in the district: Ralph S.
