Clementine after a two-week vacation trip to Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies. The plane trip to Vancouver was a new experience for Mrs. Ashleigh who had not been on an extended flight before. The couple went by boat to Prince Rupert and then by train to Jasper National park. A mother bear and her cub slept in a tree nearby and deer came to nibble at the flowers, the couple related. Side trips took them to Medicine Lake, a lake that two weeks ago took nearly an hour to cross and which by the first of September would have been absorbed entirely by underground caverns, a yearly occurrence when the snow has stopped melting. The Ashleighs then went to Mr. Edith Cavell glacier where Jimmy Stewart and company were making the movie "The Far Country" in an old mining village. They then went to Lake Louise where Icemobiles took them out on the glacier, and they visited the newly discovered intense green Peyto Lake. One of the trip's highlights occurred at Banff where they went up the mountain at twilight by chair lift and Ashleigh, on vacation from his duties as secretary manager of the Anaheim Elks club, spotted a wild elk. Following a tour of Emerald Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ashleigh returned to Vancouver by train and took a ferry to Victoria where they had an interesting visit with friends who had just met one of the first California style homes to be built ada. The Ashleighs visited garet McDougal Breest family in Seattle (for Elks club secretary) and by plane. BIRTHS An eight-lb. son waived Mr. and Mrs. Martin of 1242 E. All wore matching taffeta towns in shades of green, delicate rose, and amber, respectively, and carried nosegays of white carnations. The bride's mother wore a gown of cocoa lace with belge accessories and a green orchid. Mrs. Faulkner chose an ensemble of dusty rose accented with purple. Her corsage was of lavender and purple orchids. For the reception which followed the nuptial rites, the bride's table was centered with a pedestal wedding cake topped with miniature of bride and groom. Miss Martine Brown presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Barbara Gautsche was in charge of the guest book. The bride exchanged her wedding gown for a blue traveling suit for her honeymoon trip. The new Mrs. Faulkner graduated from Anaheim Union High School. The bridegroom is now associated with the Grimalva Bulick agency in San Diego and as a member of the agency's basketball team, won all-American honors last year.
