Nancy Learned - Harold Caldwell
United In Marriage Saturday
The traditional candle lit ceremonies provided a charming setting Saturday evening at the First Methodist church chapel as Nancy Mirfield Learned, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Learned, 923 N. Olive street Anaheim, was united in marriage to Harold Ralph Caldwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ralph Caldwell, 12582 Ball Road, Anaheim.
With 200 guests witnessing the ceremony, the Rev. Alev Nichols performed the service. Joan Ranney served as maid of honor and Jahice Murdy and Bonnie Griffith, school friends of the bride, as bridesmaids. Best man was Ted Honer.
Miss Learned was clad in a satin, princess-styled wedding gown with long pointed sleeves over a hoop skirt adorned with Brussels' lace and a single strand of pearls. A Juliet cap and floor length veil completed the dress. Her bouquet was composed of carmations, stehanotis and ivy.
The white-carpeted church was decorated with 3-branch candelabras festooned with bunches of orange blossoms and white satin ribbons.
The maid of honor wore a buffant pink taffeta and carried a basket of zinnias, caspia and rose buds tied with tulle and satin ribbon to match her gown. The bridesmaids wore similar costumes in pink.
The bride's mother, Mrs. Learned, wore a gown of hyacinth blue with matching accessories and a baby orchid corsage while the groom's mother, Mrs. Caldwell, wore powder blue with corsage and matching accessories.
Soloist was William Davis of Altadema and organist, Mrs. Ethel Lynn Mansfield of Santa Ana. In charge of the guest book was Pat Flaherty; Mrs. Weston Walker, Mrs. Alice Matzen; Miss Janel Curl, Miss Muriel Reeves, and Miss Alice Carpenter assisted with serving at the reception which followed.

Miss Marion Ruth Widney of Apple Valley became the bride of Roland Gray of Anaheim on July 20 at the Protestant chapel at the George Air Force Base, Victorville.

Spinster Dinner
Honors Miss Nelda Louise Schumacher
Miss Nelda Louise Schumacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Schumacher, was recently honored at a Spinster dinner given by her sister, Mrs. J. R. Golden of Murrieta (nee Elaine Schumachr).
Guests gathered at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Schumacher, for cocktails and then adjourned to the Cirque for dinner. The table was centered with an arrangement of peach-toned gladiolus and carnations and individual places were marked with peach carnation nose-gays. Following the dinner guests returned to the Schumacher home and the remainder of the evening was spent playing bridge. Mrs. Golden wore pink linen for the occasion and Miss Schumacher chose a pink cotton ensemble with black patent accessories.

Red Gray Wedded in Ceremony
George AFB near Victorville
Burton Ruth Widney of they became the bride of day of Anaheim on July Protestant chapel at the Air Force Base, Victorville is the daughter of Mrs. Gaylord G. Widney Valley, and her bride-groom son of Mr. and Mrs. of 315 N. Sabina st. married by the Rev. Val of the Victorville oodist church in a ceresed by over 100 relatives and close friends.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, and wore a bridal gown of Chantilly lace and nylon net over taffeta with a sweetheart neckline. Her ruffled fingertip length veil fell from a half halo of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds mingled with orange blossoms.
Vows were repeated before an altar decorated with white stock, daisies and magnolia blossoms.
Members of the Wedding
The bride was attended by Mrs. Betty Conrad, matron of honor and bridesmaids Miss Florence Shires and Miss Esther Gray. They wore matching gowns of pink organdy and carried bouquets of white daisies.
Miss Janis Cole was a charming little flower girl dressed in an aqua color organdy dress tied with a sash of pale pink satin.
Best man was Joe Turner and ushers were Con Coonrad, Ed Farrington and Gene Kauffman.
Wedding music was supplied by Michael Canfield, organist, and Arthur Louis, soloist. Selections were "The Lord's Prayer," "Because", and "Through The Years."
Reception Followed
The newly married couple cut the first pieces of wedding cake at a reception held in the First Christian church of Victorville. Mrs. Anibal assisted at the refreshment table and Mia Morrison a gown of light blue lace, Miss Gloria Rae Temple was a radiant bride when she exchanged marriage vows with Gene Cottrill in the First Presbyterian church of Palo Alto.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. R. D. Temple, 6161 E. Lincoln blvd., and her bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde C. Cottrill, 9023 E. 163th street, Bellflower.

Ahlstroms Return From Three Week Trip up Coast
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ahlstrom of 534 S. Indiana st., returned on Thursday evening from a three-week vacation trip through northern California and Oregon. Their grandson, Charles Robert Cunningham, 10, accompanied them on the trip.
The Ahlstroms spent the first week in Kings' Canyon National park and then went on to Sequoia
at the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with sprays of flowers and lighted tapers. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Illness prevented her mother from attending the wedding.
The bride carried a nosegay of white wedding flowers arranged on a white Bible. She was attended by Miss Dorcene Nelson as maid of honor. Miss Nelson wore a gown of pink lace and carried a nosegay of yellow daisies.
John R. Clark of Artesia, attended the groom as best man.
A reception followed the wedding ceremony and was held in the Palo Alto Inn. The bride-groom's mother wore an afternoon dress of rose-colored lace as she received many friends and relatives who gathered.
The newly married couple spent a brief honeymoon at Lake Tahoe and are at home now at 173 Willow Road, Meno Pass, where they fished, swam, and hiked. The next few days were spent in Yosemite, and then they went on to Ashland, Ore., to visit

Scene of Meeting Of Secretaries
The beautiful Balboa Bay club was the meeting place on July 28 when members and guests of both the Orange County and Long Beach chapters of Executives Secretaries, Inc., gathered for an informative and entertaining program arranged by Marie Nelson of Knott's Berry Farm.
Presiding at the short business session, Enid Edmond announced the vacancy of two offices on the Board. In elections which followed, Irene Adams of Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., was made notebook editor and Ida Middleton of Chickasan Co., Brea, became sergeant-at-arms.
At the close of the business meeting, the group was entertained by Janie Tronquist who sang, "Naughty Marietta," "Italian Street Song" and "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life."
Mr. J. Laituri of Toastmasters International, chemical engineers of the Union Oil Co., gave a talk titled "The Seven Symptoms" which dealt with the timely submitted at the home events, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Dale Roberts was installed as president of the Walther League of Zion Lutheran church in morning services on Sunday at which the Rev. E. H. Pflug officiated.

chairman of Christian growth.
In the afternoon, members of the Walther League participated in a zone rally and beach party sponsored by St. John's Walther League of Orange at Huntington Beach State Park.
