With plentiful supplies of beef selling at attractive prices in Anaheim Markets it will be easy to please the man of the house any day. All you need do is bring on a big, thick broiled porterhouse, and he's sure to be completely satisfied. To make him doubly pleased, simply add the trimmings he likes so well with steak.
Those trimmings might be French fried potatoes, buttered asparagus or frenched green beans, a tossed salad with his favorite dressing, hot rolls or hard rolls, pie a la mode or strawberry shortcake with whipped cream.
When purchasing steak for broiling, have it cut at least 1 inch thick. This produces the finest results and there is nothing so grand as thick broiled steak!
Serve Immediately
And there is nothing so disappointing as a poorly broiled steak. See that it is golden brown on the outside, the inside rare or medium as he likes. Another point to remember; do serve the steak immediately. Have dinner ready, the family at the table, and serve the steak directly from the broiler to the spot in front of dad for him to serve.
Broiling temperature is determined by the distance of the meat from the heat. For a one-inch turn the steak and finish cooking on the second side. Season, and the steak is ready to serve.
FAMILY TREAT
Hamburgers are tops on anyone's list. And here is a trick that will add even more appeal to your beef patty serving. Try cooking and serving the patties in a spicy sauce made of catchup, prepared mustard and a hint of cloves.
Beef Patties—Spicy Sauce
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
¼ cup catchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
½ teaspoons cloves
Combine meat, salt and pepper and shape into 4 patties, about an inch thick. Brown patties on both sides, in frying pan. Mix catchup, mustard and cloves. Pour mixture over patties and cook about 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Serve sauce over patties. Four servings.

Our list of things for the bride to do before the wedding brought forth some questions from a soon-to-be groom, a young man who is wondering just which part of the wedding preparations are his responsibility.
It is usually the groom who buys the wedding ring and obtains the marriage license. And in time On Saturday morning, nuptial mass united Miss Irene Elizabeth Stehly and Paul Aloysius Devlin in St Boniface Catholic church. The bridegroom's brother, Rev J. J. Devlin, S. J. of Brophy High school, Phoenix, Ariz., was officient.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas J. Stehly of 10322 S. Brookhurst ave., the bride was given in marriage by her father. She was lovely in a bridal gown of white satin and Venetian lace with a long sweeping train. The long sleeved fitted bodice was fashioned with a lace edged portrait neckline, and the skirt was created of pleated tulle, over the satin.
A finger illusion fell from a small cap exquisitely trimmed with lace and seed pearls. The bridal bouquet was of a single white orchid bordered by stephanotis.
Light Blue Gowns
The bride's attendants wore gowns in various shades of light blue. Mald of honor was Miss Winifred Ann Stehly, sister of the bride and both mothers as well as boutonniers for the male members of the wedding. Perhaps you will want to plan a bachelor party. Had you thought of selecting special gifts for your bride, your best man and the usheres?

Broiling temperature is determined by the distance of the meat from the heat. For a one-inch steak, place the meat on the broiler pan and adjust pan so that top of meat is two inches from the heat; a 2 inch steak, 3 inches from the heat.
Broil until the surface is well browned, then season with salt and pepper. Seasonings are added after the meat is broiled because salt tends to draw out the meat juices and retard browning.
