2 Anaheim Gazette THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 1937 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Marilyn Schultz' Engagement Told Former classmates at Marywood High School will be interested to learn that the parents of Marilyn Jean Schultz have announced her engagement to Kenneth E. Kratz, son of Mrs. W. C. Barth of Scotland, S. C. The bride-elect, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul P. Schultz of 1217 S. Broadway, Santa Ana, will complete her training in September at Queen of Angels College of Nursing in Los Angeles. The wedding will take place on Oct. 3 in St. Anne's Catholic church in Santa Ana. Los Angeles Street Phone ANAHEIM 3512 Hilbers Family Returns from Trip Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hilbers and their son Gary of 11402 E. Crone returned this week from a three week vacation trip through the mid-west. They spent several days with Mrs. Hilbers' only sister in Clear Lake, Iowa, and celebrated her birthday with a picnic, fishing and speed boating. This was the first meeting of the sisters in 10 years. The Hilbers then went on through Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. At Grand Rapids, they loaded two speedboats in a double decked boat trailer for the journey home. The came home through Minnesota where they stopped to visit for several days with Mrs. Hilbers' uncle who operates a lodge on Lake Ottertail. They report very hot weather through South Dakota's Black Hills, the sage-covered plains of Wyoming, and in Utah. With the few days remaining before Hilbers reports to his work at Bob Williams' sporting goods store and Mrs. Hilbers to her work at the Five Point Pharmacy, they have enjoyed cruising in their new 16-foot outboard motor boat in Southern California waters. The second boat has been delivered to the Williams sporting goods store. Her husband in his second year at California Polytechnic college at San Luis Obispo, majoring in dairy husbandry. They will make their home in San Luis Obispo and plan to attend school this fall. Floralyn Groover Engagement Told Mrs. Emily N. Groover, 1145 W. Broadway, has announced the engagement of her daughter, Floralyn Irene Groover, to Raymond P. Walker, son of Mrs. Mae Walker of 147 N. Waverly, Orange. Miss Groover is a member of the Orange Empire Chorale and is a graduate of Anaheim Union High School. She is presently employed at Mel Burns, Inc., Ford dealer in Long Beach. The bridegroom-elect is a member of the Orange 20-30 club, attended Orange schools, and is a graduate of Santa Ana college and U.C. at Berkeley. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy and is now employed at the Southern Counties Gas company in Santa Ana. The couple plan to be married in September.
