4 Anaheim Gazette THURSDAY, JUNE 15, 1953 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA STILL POETRY—Shown above is one of the "pin-ups" by Burt and Katie Owens which will present the "still" poetry in a dance production number entitled "Still and Live Poetry" to be given by Richards-Martin dance students June 30 in AUHS auditorium. Musical Arts Club in Annual Opera Program The annual opera program at the Musical Arts club of Orinda county was held at the Ebell house in Santa Ana last Friday evening. Ruth Phelps, drama coach at Tustin high school, well known for her activities at the Laguna little theater group was installed as president. The following musical program was given: to life by the dancers. The first according to the Martins, or from the Owens. The first of two songs of production are original compositions by Waunitta Ronseau. Tango number was composed by Lois Sargeant Olds. The singers, students of Na Nickol of Torrance, are Se Gish and Earnie Kritel. Kritel Anias Schultz collaborated to compose the climax to theduction. Eight numbers are included on the pageant, which is sponsored by Anaheim Elks club, Mae Mines and Lois Sargeant will accompany the piano. Richards-Martin Dance Pageant To be Presented on June 30 "Still and live Poetry" is the title of a lavish production number to be staged June 30 at 8 p.m. in Anaheim High school auditorium by the students of Richards-Martin Dancing school. Zion Women to Model Old-Time Wedding Gowns A fashion showing of old-time bridal gowns will highlight the June meeting of the Christian Life guilds which will be held this evening at the Zion Lutheran parish hall. All women of the congregation are urged to attend and to bring guests. Carrying out the bridal theme, the dining room will be especially decorated and a potluck supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Coffee, bread and butter, and a dessert of fancy wedding cake will be furnished by the committee. The Readers guild of the church is in charge of the program with Mrs. Howard Gilmore as chairman. The fashion show will be of bridal gowns actually worn by Nahaime women. The oldest gown dates back to 1880 and the most recent was worn this year. Butterworths Return from Jaunt Across Country to New England Just returned from a 7500 mile vacation trip by car across the country and into the New England states are Rev. and Mrs. Frank Butterworth of White Temple Methodist church. Highlights of the trip were visits with old friends, side trips to many historical shrines and the lovely spring flowers encountered en route. The couple left Anaheim on May 14th, stopping first at their student charge in the town of Gurnee outside of Chicago where they were given a reception at the local church. They crossed Lake Michigan and stopped at the tulip festival in Holland. They next stopped at Niagara Falls and Syracuse, New York, journeying on through Pittsfield, Mass., to the Green and White Mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire. After a visit in the Frank Notch lake country, they come down the thorough Massachusetts toton.
