DIMAGGIO AND-EX-WIFE IN COURT—
Joe DiMaggio (left) appeared in a Los Angeles court with his ex-wife, Actress Dorothy Arnold and their son, 11-year-old Joseph Paul DiMaggio III (right). The former baseball star wanted unrestricted visitation rights or full custody of the boy, who is in his mother's custody, but the court gave him visiting rights on alternate weekends. Miss Arnold wanted DiMaggio's support of the boy increased to $1000. She was turned down. DiMaggio said he was now paying $300 a month plus paying for the boy's education. They divorced in 1944.

Love’s Fine, but A’s Manager and First Sacker Worrying about Money
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — First baseman Eddie Robinson and Arthur Ehlers, general manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, like everything about each other except how much money one wants and how much the other has offered. You’d have thought Damon and Pythias had come back for an encore after the Robinson - Ehlers two-hour salary session at Shibe park Tuesday.
Grand Fellow
"A grand fellow," Ehlers called the broad backed fellow from Baltimore.
"A nice fellow that Ehlers," said Robinson. "I can’t see how I can miss coming to an agreement with a nice guy like him to deal with."
After the two finished whacking each other on the back, a reporter introduced the relatively sordid question of money.
"Sure, you’re both grand guys, but did you agree on terms," asked the newsman.
"Let Mr. Ehlers do the talking," yielded Robinson. It was a gallant gesture from the club’s newest employee. And Mr. Ehlers talked in this wise:
"I realize Robinson’s position. He was the big man in Chicago last year where they draw over a million fans. He was in a position to make some stout salaries demands before the trade that brought him here for Ferris Fain. He’s 32 and getting no younger.
Too High
“What Robinson wants is above any figure I had in mind. And we didn’t move from that amount either. It’s more than I want to pay him.
“After all, there is a limit as to how high we can go. We’re little different from Chicago. Our attendance was in the 600,000.” Besides, Robby and one or two others carried’ the White Soil Here we’ve got a lot of guys who do the job."
Robinson, who was traded to Athletics last week along with outfielder Ed McGhee, and infielder Joe Demaecirl for Fain, the American league batting champion, and infielder Bob Wilson expressed delight at two injuries.
1. "I won’t have to face Bobby Shantz."
2. "I won’t have to face Harry Byrd."
Well-made cooky sheets are a worthwhile investment because they may be used for baking rolls biscuits and creampuffs as well as for cookies.

PCC Teams Have Busy Weekend in Prospect
LOS ANGELES (UP) — Pacific coast conference teams of the southern division have busy weekends coming up with all games against non-conference foes.
California is at Salt Lake City for a series with Utah; Southern California is on a three-game trip to Hawaii; UCLA hosts Bradley Thursday night and Santa Barbara Friday night, and Stanford meets Bradley in the San Francisco Cow palace Saturday night.
Southern division conference play resumes on Feb. 13.
Meanwhile a check of the record books shows division teams have broken or tied with game records this season—most in the free-throw department.
Bob McKeen of Cal and Ron Tomsic of Stanford have each broken the single game free-throw attempts mark by two with 16 apiece. Tomsic dropped 13 in one game to tie Dick Ridgway's mark set in 1951 with UCLA. Dick Welsh of USC sank all eight of his charity tosses in a game against Stanford to tie the record. When California had 40 free throw attempts in one game it broke the old mark of 38. The Bears tied the record for fewest personal fouls with nine in a single game.

Worksheet Errors Start Factory Hassle, Chase
OAKLAND (UP)—A young factory worker, angered by what he considered errors on his worksheet, pulled a gun on his foreman Wednesday, disarmed a policeman, cowed other workers—but was finally run to earth in a 75-mile-an-hour police chase.
Charles R. Osuna, 20, an ex-Marine, was held for medical observation and on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said Osuna, a piecework employee in an auto battery plant, became enraged over production figures with which foreman Lorne Waters added him.
He pulled a gun and made Waters change the figures, officers said. After Osuna departed, Water called police.
Patrolman Marion Reeves was discussing the complaint when Osuna returned. Holding Mrs. Phyllis Haegly, 30, another employee, in front of him as a shield, he forced Officer Reeves to hand over his gun.
